    I dont particularly want either one. Im just kinda throwing their names out there. I'd rather see murton than either of those two. However, I know we will trade for someone. So, maybe it will be one of them. who knows.

My favorite part of the baseball season (aside the playoffs, when the cubs are in it) right before the deadline. I love brewing up deals and such. And I love all this tradetalk/rumors. Anyways, I'm starting to get excited. Because I'm 100% Posotive that we are going to end up with SOMEBODY new on this team. We are obviously contenders (only THREE out of the wild card) and I know Hendry isnt just going to sit passivly. The only question is WHO will be the new face on the team. And how big of an impact will he have. OK, all that aside, I would like to see Hendry try to get something as a middle man in a trade like this. What about Mike Cameron from the Mets? I posted an article about a week ago that said the cubs were looking into him. Not that I particularly want cameron. Just throwing something out there. What about Cliff Floyd? Personally, however, I dont want hendry to touch left field unless he makes a BIG aquisition (like a Dunn). I would rather see Murton play out there every day, unless he gets a player thats going to be a huge improvement.

    I agree with you. that is some horrible classless action. Nonsense. The dude is obviously a mental midget. Kudos to the crowd for trying to get into his head. (Whether a guy with a 3.00 ERA deserved the treatment that he got while he was a Cub is a different story) no way. They are way out of line.

Now, I'm not gonna actually say he is the next hank aaron. But, really, you cant deney the fact that whatever defensive problems he may (or may not) have, he will make up for it over and over agian with his Offense.

    I believe it is just for the rest of the season so that he can help the club anyway he can. He will have surgery after the season to clean out his shoulder and then be ready to return to the rotation next year. Yuck, Surgery. I didnt hear that. *cry* Poor kerry.

    HOLY POOP. I'd LOVELOVELOVE to have him in left. and you guys are completely right. We do not need another sosa like player. Who the hell would want someone who could offensivley carry a team for an entire season.

    So, i havent read much about this... Is wood going to be in the pen for the rest of this year, adn then return to the rotation next year? I'd hate to have a twelve million dollar releiver. I still really dont like this idea. *sigh*.

    It's fun re-visiting old threads. Tim and Mushi had an excellent discussion about Jenkins when he signed his extension. Given our OPS shortcomings in LF, I wonder if Hendry has Jenkins on his radar this week. I haven't heard anything about Milwaukee openly shopping him, but since he is still owed $15.5M in 2006 and 2007, perhaps he might be tacitly available. Would he be an improvement? He has been swinging the bat very well lately. Hoops I dont know. I would rather see murton play every day, rather than go give up prospects/players to get jenkins. I have never much liked him. I always saw him as very mediocre for whatever reason. If I remember correctly though, he has an absoloute cannon for an arm. Which would be nice. But still, unless we're going to go get a big gun (dunn, Kearns, ??) i'd just rather see murton.

    *sigh* I REALLY wish dusty would bat Aram fourth. It'd work so much better in spots like this. Some one on ESPN pointed it out the other day. "with burnitz batting behind lee, WHY in the world would you ever pitch to him"
