It would be one thing if we had low-mid production corner outfielders. Then Corey has to go, in my opinion. But with Giles and Abreu, my god. Corey could get one hit all season and we'd be fine.

Why anyone would want Corey back in a Cub's unifrom next year is beyond me? He was the worst player on the Cubs this year hands down. Not even Macias or Neifi were as bad. Cheap. Defense. Potential. Look, if we were able to land both Abreu AND Giles. I could play center and we'd win 95 games. Patterson would be pretty cheap, he is still a defensive stud, and he does have a pretty nice upside. Even if he falls flat on his face again, we have Abreu and Giles. Also, for those interested, this is abreu's remaining salary: 06:$13M, 07:$15M, 08:$16M club option ($2M buyout)

Ok, the poll was a pretty big blowout. Murton will be our LFer next year. So What would he be getting paid? Is that something we need to decide or is there already a price in place or whatever? Just Tell me and i'll update our Salary info. In the meantime, on to a topic that I'm sure will be fun... Right field

The danger there is that Dusty might platoon a lefty with Murton a la Holla/Dubois. I think Murton has done enough with his 145 AB's to calm fears that he'll be a bust. It's not like Dubois who had a cup of coffee last year. Murton has had success over enough of a sample size that we don't have to really have a backup plan on the 25 man. Keep Grieve in AAA if necessary, but DON"T give Dusty a veteran crutch to keep one of our brightest prospects on the bench. Again, let me ask everyone to keep fears of dusty out of this thread. Because we are going to address his management position later. And unless I'm totally off. I doubt he'll keep his job. This entire thread is about what we believe is best for this team. So dusty's deficiencies are irrelevant. thanks.

Awesome. Well since my thread got locked, and it was pretty much a blowout (11-1 in favor of nomar) I will assume that is the decision we have made. Our next topic of Discussion is the one we've all been waiting on: LEFT FIELD. This one is wide open. What are some of our options?

Please, do not be bounded by what dusty would or would not do, we are going to discuss later in this thread if dusty even gets to keep his job. Also, why did my poll get locked? I asked for the first two to be locked, not the new furcal vs nomar one. ALSO, one little bit of clarification since rocket brought it up. The reason i did not put a price on furcal is because we have yet to discuss that. If furcal were to win that poll, then we would discuss contract.
