  1. You might be surprised. Rumor has it they plan to flip Blalock once the trade is completed. Wow. That used to be a good organization. It's unfortunate. They just don't have the fan base that they should. It doesn't help that they have to play baseball in Dolphins Stadium. I remember going to a game in 2003 in late August during their big run to the playoffs and the stadium was still dead. *remembers NLCS* Yea, poor them. :x
  2. Well, Here are our four cantidates and their career & 2005 Stats: Wilkerson: 2005: .248/.351/.405 11HR (greatly down from 04's numbers) Career: .256/.365/.452 Michaels: 2005: .304/.399/.415 4HR (HR's down from 04) Career: .291/.380/.442 Bradley: 2005: .290/.350/.484 13HR Career: .269/.350/.426 Pierre: 2005: .276/.326/.354 2 HR (also greatly down from 04) Career: .305/355/.375 Based on that, Michaels seems like the best overall cantidate. Howeer, if you want a little pop out of the position for basically the same OBP capabilities you can try wilkerson, and just take a hit in the AVG department.
  3. Allrighty, tally's are in and (due to a tie) we have FOUR finalists: Wilkerson Pierre Bradley Michaels So, Which of these four do you think would be the best fit? Discuss.
  4. Yikes, I forgot to shut this thread down this morning. It looks like we have a pretty tight poll on our hands here, so instead of three winners, there are four. Mods, plz lock.
  5. I was waiting for the someone to do the obligitory rap isnt music post.
  6. How can Rap/Hiphop not even be a choice.
  7. Just reminding everyone to go vote vote vote.
  8. That or, SAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNCCCCCCCCTTTTTTTTUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYY
  9. Hey Roast, I am probably going to get flamed for this, but would it be possible for you to leave out "Jesus Christ" when posting on this forum. I apologize if this comes off as rude or calling you out, I just have been bothered by it for awhile and I would like to enjoy this forum without having my Lords name used that way. If the mods see otherwise, I will let it go. I just don't see a reason to use it. Again, I am not trying to call you out or embarrass you, just asking for alittle respect when language is tossed around here. Thanks man! I actually agree with you, I really need to cut back on doing that. I never used to, i just have of late. Stress makes you say stuff. No offense taken, and I appologize for the language.
  10. We already discussed LF, and it was decided we did not want to attempt to get dunn, so I dont think that Idea woudl fly. But in the interest of fairness, I suppose you could vote "other" also, NOTICE: This poll will end at approx. 10 AM saturday morning (CT)
  11. I dont know exactly how to take that... But i'll take it as a serious question/suggestion. The reason prior wood and maddux are there is because they were already under contract for 2006. When this thread started, anybody under contract for 06 was placed on the "current team" list because they were our current team. If we want to trade them, all I have to do is erase their name. However, Z does not have a dollar ammount assigned to him yet, which is what we will do when we get around to the SP disscusions.
  12. Yeesh. Remind me to stop coming home from places. I come home from school today and see this deal is "close" and that hendry doesnt want to pursue Giles. Now I come home from work and the deal is done. not only is it done, but it is far too expensive. Crimeny.

  14. He's arbitration eligible, so since his contract for this year isn't set at a value yet, that's why he's not up there I imagine. Not that it matters, but it's a little silly to add in all these ficticious contracts with other non-signed players, but not include Z with an estimated contract value. Well, we will. But we have to get there first. SP's will be coming up after Center Field.
  15. Jesus, what the hell. Seriously. I come home from school, see that hendry doesnt want to get involved with Giles, then read that he goes out and signs Eyre for THREE years. God please let this just be a load of score BS.
  16. I think we can take the ??'s out of the title
  17. Just like to remind everyone to go vote! also, This info is always located in the first page of this thread, but i figured i'd go ahead and throw it up here too, jsut so newcomers to this thread know where we stand. Our Team so far Mgr: Dusty Baker 1B: Derrek Lee - 8 Mil 2B: Todd Walker - 2.5 Mil SS: Nomar Garciaparra - 8 Mil (5 base 3 incentive) 3B: Aramis Ramirez - 10.5 Mil LF: Matt Murton - TBD CF: RF: Brian Giles - 15 Mil C: Michael Barrett - 3 Mil SP: Mark Prior - 2 Mil SP: Kerry Wood - 11 Mil SP: Greg Maddux - 9 Mil SP: SP: Pen Bench C:Henry Blanco - 1.5 Mil Salary So Far: $70.5 Million Left To Spend: $34.5 Million

  20. On TWIB during spring training he stole the tires off one of the other guys car and hid them.
  21. Dunn has never played center. Abreu has (granted, less than 20 games).
  22. Because, in all likelyhood he wont be as bad as he was last year again this year. And if you throw him in the 8 spot with the lineup we've got already, then it wont hurt us much at all, and it'd be pretty darn cheap too. Look at this lineup Murton Walker Lee Giles Aram Nomar Barrett Patterson You can arrange 1-7 anyway you want, but the fact is in a lineup including Giles, Lee, Aram, and Nomar, the 8th spot, all things considered, is fairly trivial. All that being said, I still voted for wilkerson.
