  1. Huff: 2005 - .261/.321/.428 Career - .288/.342/.478 No thanks.
  2. Not really. I think Hendry could just point to Pujols' contract. Nobody is going to be making 20 million per for quite awhile, IMO. Arod laughs at you.
  3. Didnt that guy starve to death yet?
  4. With Hendry's new "I like guys who can catch the ball" mantra, I see about a .0000001% chance of that happening. Plus, you gotta remember, Hendry already more or less told both of them to move on.
  5. Oh, I agree. I actually just posted that. But i'd still be all giddy like a school girl for any of the three. I'd take any of the three, but I think Manny would add a little zest to the team. Forget all those catch words. I dont wan team chemistry. I dont want someone to add "zest" to the team. I want someone to produce. Abreu and Dunn will most likely produce more, and Dunn will produce longer. Which is why I have them above manny.
  6. The problem is that Hendry already pretty much told nomar not to let the door hit him where the good lord split him. He put all his eggs in the Furcal basket and now we are gonna pay for it. I agree the dodgers overpaid. I am less upset that we didnt get Furcal and more upset that hendry set himself up to get raped on the tradeblock.
  7. Oh, I agree. I actually just posted that. But i'd still be all giddy like a school girl for any of the three.
  8. Personally, I would want them in this order: 1. Dunn. He's young, and with guys like Lee and Ramirez surrounding him, I bet his average would creep up a bit. Plus, that OBP and Power are awesome. 2. Abreu. Older, but still a STUD. 3. Older, Ugly contract, "clubhouse cancer"**, still puts up great numbers. **I dont give a rip about "clubhouse cancer". I've said it before, i'll say it again. Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig didnt talk for five years. They did ok. Plus, look where all that chemistry got us last year.
  9. Bobby Abreu: Career - .303/.411/.512 23HR 95RBI (HR and RBI are 162 game avg's) 2005 - .286/.405/.474 24HR 102RBI Manny Ramirez: Career - .314/.409/.599 42HR 136RBI (again, HR and RBI are 162 game avg's) 2005 - .292/.388/.594 45HR 144RBI What part of trading for that kind of production would be increadably stupid? I dont care what their contracts look like, we have plenty of money. And yes they are older, but when they produce at that rate, i dont care.
  10. Well, [expletive]. I thought about it last night, and this morning, and I have come to this conclusion: It all comes down to Pie. There are really 3 ways this could go, IMO. 1) We keep Pie, and keep him in the minors. He may come up towards the middle of the season. Maybe not. This option means that we will most likely end up with scrubs in the outfield. We would really have to come very close to selling the farm to get the key we need (Dunn, Manny, Abreu) without trading him. This would probably gaurontee us a sub .500 season, imo. 2) We could keep him, and play him in Center to start the year. This may hinder his development, it may not. He may turn into Patterson, he may be the next Cabrera. This is a high risk, but potentially high reward, gamble. This option would allow us to focus more money on RF, but the problem still remains that we'd have to sell ALOT of peices to get Abreu/Manny/Dunn without Pie being traded. This one could go either way. We could make out like bandits with Pie turning into cabrera, or we could not. 3) We trade Pie as part of a package to get Dunn/Abreu/Manny. This would put us in a position to where either pierre or patterson would most likely be playing center. While this would put us in the hunt for a new center fielder in a year or two, it would probably give us the best chance of winning this year.
  11. Thats true. And I dont want Damon either (at least not for the money boras wants) but sadly it may be our only chance of winning in 06.
  12. Wowzers. Well ok, I need sleep. I'll check this madness out tomorrow after church.
  13. Rosenthal used the LA times as his only source.
  14. He....Didnt.....Sign. At least, we dont think so. The LA Times (the only news outlet to actually report the signing) has pulled the article from its site.
  15. Hmm.. So that was an interesting couple of hours.
  16. This is awesome. I need to go to bed cause I have church in the morning. But oh well, i'll sleep when I get back.
  17. Hahaha, ESPN jumps on board right after the report is reversed. CLASIC!
  18. http://www.knoxnews.com/kns/baseball/article/0,1406,KNS_318_4287213,00.html BUMP cause this is important to see.
  19. Hmm.... Check this out. This report came out 8 minutes ago (though it sounds like one that came out this morning) http://www.knoxnews.com/kns/baseball/article/0,1406,KNS_318_4287213,00.html
  20. Please quantify your optimism. Are you optimistic that Furcal took our original offer and this report is just wrong? Or, That we upped our bid to beat out the Dodgers and this report was prematurely made before we outbid them? How about Optimistic that hendry still might get furcal so he doesnt have to go into panic mode.
  21. Well, if anyone wants to try to be optomistic, its been an hour and a half...still no other media reports.
  22. It could suck, but it could suck for different reasons. I'm less worried about Hendry making some dippy panic trade like Pie for Pierre than I am Hendry trying to wait deals out like he's in a poker game, and we have to rush to sign the dregs of the league in late January. Either way. I see a high chance of SUCK in the future.
