  1. I love it when hitters dont even pretend like they're slightly interested in POSSIBLY taking a swing.
  2. Oh my jesus. That would make my life complete. Speaking of which. Does anyone have that picture from the SF/Philly game a few years ago where some fans held up a giant banner that said "Babe did it on hot dogs and beer, Aaron did it with class, you did YOU do it" surrounded by a bunch of people holding up giant *'s. I have it as the desktop on my laptop, but I want to save it on this computer. http://star.walagata.com/w/orual/bonds2.JPG You ma'am, are awesome.

  4. He'll just be a placeholder for A-Rod anyway, so it doesn't really matter all that much. I predict A-Rod breaks the new record before he turns 40. A friend and I were talking about this last week and it's very possible that we'll see three different HR kings within the next 15-20 years. Bonds will break Aaron's record. Arod will break Bonds record. Then there is a decent chance that Pujols can come up and break Arod's record eventually.
  5. Anyone hear the interview with the head of the officials on XM the other day. As it turns out they rarely if ever make mistakes  Honestly, Why is it that baseball is the only sport with such TERRIBLE officiating. You ain't seen SEC officiating in ANY sport. Blehhh.... Fair enough, I should have said "pro" sport.
  6. Hahaha, Yea. U2, Dave Matthews, Eminem, Saw Doctors. What a random group.
  7. Anyone hear the interview with the head of the officials on XM the other day. As it turns out they rarely if ever make mistakes  Honestly, Why is it that baseball is the only sport with such TERRIBLE officiating. Sure, there are BS calls in every sport, but that will happen from time to time. Especially in other sports like football, basketball, and soccer where there are 10-12 guys running around at full speed. But in such a controlled environment, how is it that there are SO many terrible calls in baseball?
  8. Garrr. Shoulda had a few more runs, that inning.
  9. "I'm sure Zambrano volunteered to play infield just so he could get some more at bats" --Bob Brenley Hahahahaha
  10. Yeah he could have. The ball bounced off the wall and came back towards the infield, getting past both the Right and Centerfielders. He woulda scored if his hammy wasnt still iffy from when he pulled it earlier in the year.
  11. That's the truth. I might get a hit or two between those guys. probably not, though.
  12. Ahh, didnt even think about his hammy. YAY RBI single.
  13. Gah, if soriano was actually running hard i think he woulda had a chance at the inside the parker. It really looked like he was loafing around the bases.
  14. Barrett wasn't on that team, so he definitely didn't hug Sammy. It was Damien Miller right? Correct. also, watching sammy so excited makes me sad :(
  15. That would be the one and only HR ball I would NOT throw back at Wrigley. I'd keep it and advertise it. See how much I could get for it, then take that price, and tell Bonds if he triples it he can have his ball back.
  16. I'm watching Comcast Sportsnet right now and they had Z's postgame interview on and I really liked Z's comments. Here are a few of the things he said, as best I can remember them. "It was definitely a bad feeling [about the barrett incident], the next day, It was a bad feeling. I dont know if you guys know, but he came up to me the next day and apologized, I apologized, we were both crying" "You know, its like when you fight with your little brother. You get into a fight and the next day you apologize and you're still brothers." "He still calls me brother, I still call him brother, we're both okay....He will catch me again. Next game, monday against Houston, he'll catch me then and I'm fine with that." then, in regards to the media-created injury "you guy's say I'm injured, I'm not. It's my arm slot. If my arm slot goes down then I have problems." For my :twocents:, I know some people on this board will never forgive him for what he did. We already have some members calling him an [expletive] and saying they want him traded, but I think thats a little short-sighted. He was frustrated, Barrett was frustrated, the whole darn team was frustrated. Hell, WE'RE frustrated. Look around this board, I've never seen so much biccering and fighting going on, on this board before. Z had just been pushed to his limit. Between the stress of knowing he's pitching like crap, knowing the team is playing like crap, and people speculating that he's injured, he just snapped on someone who he seems quite obviously to be very close friends with. That will happen, no one here can tell me that they havent gotten into a heated argument (maybe not a fistfight..) with our little brothers or best friends. Granted, he hit him, and that's wrong, and I'm not excusing him for doing it. It was a mistake. But it's wrong to call someone an [expletive] for making a mistake like that, especially when you can understand WHY he did it. That doesn't make it right, but you can at least see what pushed him over the edge. Since then he has apologized to Barrett, said to the media he is sorry for the entire incident, and vowed to start this year new (as far as his pitching is concerned). There's not much more you can ask of the man.
  17. Lenny Harris, easy. Not only did he screw us over while he was on our team, but he went and screwed us over on the marlins. In the same year.
  18. hahaha, I love Z.
  19. and a glass lip. GAH! beat me to it.
  20. Can't say so much about his lip, however.
  21. Oh PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ get on for Soriano...
  22. Egh. It didnt look like he went around through my blue-shaded glasses. How about another GS, derosa?
  23. So Eyre pitches a 1-2-3 inning and Wuertz struggles. It must be opposite day.
