    I disagree that marquis is "losing it" Both of those hits were ground balls, which is what he's been doing all day, they just found holes.

    We were talking about this in the game thread today. If the cubs make the playoffs; what catchers do we carry? My guess is Kendall and Soto. Some people are convinced it will be Kendall and Blanco. So, what are your thoughts? and why?

    Hank, i'd assume. I might lean towards Kendall getting the axe. Runs are a premium in the post season and having Kendall behind the pate is just begging the other team to put runners in scorig posiion all day long. I honestly doubt it. Hank hasnt worked much with the pitching staff this year due to injury and Soto hasn't yet worked much with them because he's new. I'd assume Lou would value the comfort level (regardless of how much that may or may not really matter) the pitchers have with Kendall to this point.

    Cedeno is in there because we have no other regular SS's on our roster and theriot was in serious need of a day off. We have other catchers on the roster (blanco) and lou is blatantly not starting him.

    I hope they can be as useless against us. Dont worry; they'll play like the '27 yankees. And mizzou, i dont remember where I read that. But I think it was a thread in baseball discussions where they talked about lou laying out the starters for the rest of the season; trachsel wasn't one of them.

    He is - someone posted the technicalities behind it somewhere on the board awesome. Yeah awesome, you really think Lou will take him over a veteran backup catcher?Why wouldn't he? He's been going with Soto over Blanco for awhile now, why would he change that if Soto keeps hitting? Why would we go with Tracshel over Marshall when Marshall has had a very good season? I'm not trying to take anything away from Marshall, but 7-8 with a 4.00 ERA isn't "very good." It's decent, but not very good. It blows the doors off what Tracshel can do now. Yes, and lou saw that. And he's already said no more trachsel this year... I don't doubt that Lou favors veterans. But he's not dusty, and if soto keeps playing like this I think he'll be on the playoff roster.

He's been going with Soto over Blanco for awhile now, why would he change that if Soto keeps hitting? Why would we go with Tracshel over Marshall when Marshall has had a very good season? Because marshall had had a few bad outings in a row, if i remember correctly. Soto has been on fire; I think Lou will give soto the chance.

If he keeps performing like this I don't know how he can overlook him. Plus, he's already said he'll likely be the #1 guy going into next year; proving that he obviously has confidence in him.
