  1. Yeah, those are really cool The ones they chose for next year, however....God they're hideous, and i'm pretty sure I could have made them if you gave me about 10 minutes. Also, I know this is a few pages back, but count me in as someone who would like to see the Blue uni's back. I like them so much better than the road grey's
  2. Never underestimate the power of our suckiness.
  3. That was generous of Dillon to give the Braves a run. I can't wait to see his comment about how the Atlanta OF looked like they had a monster truck rally on it, with all the potholes and such. I understand why people are getting defensive about wrigley, because it is our home park...but the outfield did look like crap for that series; i was there every game and i saw it first hand. THe outfield has looked terrible ever since that concert, but it's gotten worse as of late, i think. it's visibly uneven.
  4. I understand it's really not my place to be calling him out, but honestly, the whole "I'm so much smarter than you, trust me, I'll tell you" game is getting really annoying. Why can't you just post like an average person?
  5. Funny that business men didnt just finish performing strenuous activity, using their exceptional athletic talent which, in their belief, God gave them.
  6. I would guess that there is a correlation between Team OBP and GIDP. Similar to the correlation between Team OBP and LOB. Possibly, but i'd also venture to say that there are plenty of teams with a higher team OBP than us and lower team GIDP.
  7. I wasn't commenting on the fist pump though. I'm only talking about the point to the sky right before he goes into the dugout. i think he knows it gets him on TV. i have no problem with him thanking God, but let's not pretend that genuflecting in front of TV cameras and 40,000 people isn't for show I dont think it necessarily is. If he really wanted to make a spectacle out of it he could do it when he was atop the mound; but he doesnt. He does it one step away from the dugout, or if nothing else when he is crossing the foul line. You can say "well why doesn't he do it in the dugout, then." Well, most likely because you can't see the sky in the dugout, and that's the whole point of what he's doing. agree to disagree then. i'm sure there a great many ballplayers who quietly thank god or say a prayer without making a big deal out of it. Agree. Im sure there are; but everyone practices their religion differently.

  10. :lmao: Holy lord that is funny.
  11. Zambrano's reaction would have been to walk him, give up a single, hit the next batter, then give up another hit that scores at least 2 runs before being yanked. then he'd point at the sky and thank god for being so crappy I hate when people say that; it's ignorant. He does that every single time he leaves the field; good or bad. I'm positive it's a religious thing and pretty disrespectful when people make comments like that, in my opinion. you're entitled to your opinion, but I think it shows up the other team as much as a fist pump or anything. it's pretty clear God is not a Cubs fan This is where we agree to disagree. But, in my opinion, it's no different then when a batter makes a cross across his chest before going to bat. He does it every single time, whether winning or losing; and because of that I don't think it can be seen as showing anyone up.
  12. GO DUKE! I was at that game, and it was AWESOME! If NU fans went into hiding after bad losses, they'd all be hermits. LOL so true. Being a Cubs fan and a NU fan teaches you a lot about life.........and how your mom was right "there will be days like this." 8-) "Momma told me there would be days like this, but i'm pissed cause it stays like this" --Tupac Shakur
  13. Yea he has, but Im pretty surprised at the rest of the team. Marquis has dominated Pitts lineup outside of Bay and Izturis(ha). With Wilson out of the lineup, I could see Izturis being one of those little rat bastard ex Cubs to come back to get us. I really can't imagine he'd be any more harmful to the Cubs than he already has been. Not that I care to see him try or anything. Lenny Harris anyone?

  15. Am I the only one that finds this assessment to be highly dubious? A bigleague OF with potholes? I guess that would explain why Soriano is always jumping around out there. But, really, the outfield does look like crap ever since they had the bright idea of holding that concert out there.
  16. Holy crap, Pat did a great job of capturing just how LOUD it was at Wrigley. Just a great finish. Holy crap.
  17. Riggleman would be just about the only other manager I would put in the discussion. It's really hard to judge Cubs managers because of the lack of talent they had. I do know that Baylor, Baker, and Zimmer were all terrible. Riggleman was nothing special either. I'd lump him with Baylor, Baker, and Zimmer. Riggleman (and Sammy Sosa...Mostly Sammy Sosa) took an terrible 1998 team to the playoffs, if only barely. He gets some extra credit points for that, in my book.
  18. Thats ok Scott...we didn't and still don't like you either. Speak for yourself. I really like Eyre. He seems like a really nice (and hilarious) guy, plus he pitched really well last year. I hated when he was put into games earlier this year because, like he said, he was pitching terribly, but since the ASB he has been great. I still really like Eyre.
  19. Or better yet, did Jon get a girlfriend!
  20. I was standing outside the right field peep-hole again tonight; a few notes: Dunn MURDERED that HR. holy crap. It landed ACROSS the street, bounced off either the sidewalk, or at least the far side of the street, bounced off the building across from wrigley, then came back on the street. I missed catching it on the ricochet by about a foot. Some jerkass ran by me with a glove and grabbed it, then took off down the street. They threw a friggin tennis ball back. I said lots of bad words to him. EDIT: Also, was Dunn's HR an important one tonight? Cause after that moron ran off down the street with the ball, some Wrigley officials came out and asked who had caught it, cause Dunn wanted the ball and was willing to "trade" Also, the atmosphere out there was insane. by the end of the game there were literally about 20-30 people standing outside right field. the most I've seen at any other point is maybe about 10. MAYBE.
