  1. Great, he got hurt on his stupidass hop.
  2. Nah, let em play well for a lil while longer. It increases the odds they will crash and burn when they come to town friday.
  3. I contemplated going and buying a ticket on the street tonight since I get out of class early enough. I decided against it because I should probably stay home and do homework. Radio it is.
  4. This guy was born 20 years after Fidel. At the time of the revolution, he was a young teenager. If he was still on the island, my guess is Fidel was busy with other things to bother meeting young ballplayers. He signed with Cleveland in 65, and I assume was out of Cuba by then. So, if he met Fidel, it would have had to have been in the middle of the revolution or just after Fidel took power and was in the middle of completely overhauling the country. I'd bet they never met, regardless of how big a baseball fan Fidel was. you think it's more or less likely than roast meeting bill gates? I don't know - I'm pretty famous in the billionaire circles. Warren Buffett just told me he's never heard of you I go by my alias when I'm around them. Maximo Ali.

  6. I'll put money on it that ARod passes that by the end of the 2013 season (Assuming bonds does not come back)
  7. Any discussion of unbreakable baseball records should begin and end with this one. It's equal with his wins IMO Nobody is going to stick around long enough, only pitching 35 games per year, to pile up 500+ wins. No way.
  8. You're predicting weather a month in advance? Watch out, Truffle - this guy is gonna take you out.
  9. I don't think they ever phased out bleacher season tickets. They can be renewed, but they don't offer any new season tickets. I'm pretty sure that we were told there are no season tickets in the bleachers whatsoever. Though maybe somebody did get grandfathered in - but it didn't sound that way when we had things like this explained to us.
  10. What's this? Do the Cubs hold off selling the front row bleacher seats until a few hours before the game? Is this for every game? That's interesting ... No, the bleachers are General Admission, so he wants to get there early so he can get a good seat before someone else takes it. So the Cubs don't sell bleacher seats online? And there is no such thing as "season ticket" bleacher seats? Yes, they sell bleacher seats online - no there are no season ticket bleachers. What they're trying to say is you can buy the ticket online but it's a general admission ticket. You can sit anywhere you want with the ticket. Thus, he wants to get there early so people don't fill up the front row before he gets there.
  11. I am sucking something terrible right now. 19 hr? ouch.
  12. I approve of this name change, as well.
  13. A+++ there have been some odd threads lately Very.
  14. He was born in Cuba? Woa. Wonder if he ever met Fidel? hahahah, what? Fidel Castro was the long-time dictator in Cuba until this year. He is what they call a communist. Thanks, captain. But his statement would be akin to me saying "Well, Roast is from America - I wonder if he's ever met Bill Gates"

  18. Well if we want to talk about ones that will never ever be broken then Cy Young's win record is the obvious answer (as well as his loss record) People like to say the 56 game hit streak will never be broken - but all it would take is for someone to get ridiculously hot for a couple months... but because of the way baseball is set up today, Cy Young's record will always stand. As far as top records in my mind: - Ruths Slg - Cobb's lifetime BA - Rose's hits (Cobb's as well, only a hundred or so less in something like 3000 less AB's) - Hack Wilson's RBI's - Cy Young's Wins - Cy Young's Losses - Nolan Ryans no-hitters.
  19. Me either, but I like this a LOT better than "rivalries." Now all cubs talk is in one forum and all other teams is in another - that's fine by me.
  20. As much as it pains me to say it, the Troll does have a good point though. The Mark Prior nightmares have already started for me. Imagine waking up at two in the morning screaming in the darkness after dreaming that Prior no-hit the Cubs at Wrigley this summer. OMG...Say it can't happen. Say it won't happen. Yep, I have them too. :cray: Why'd we let this guy go? Because you watch Cinemax after 11PM =D>
  21. Well, lets put it this way, when I get there about 3 hours before game time there is usually already a short line started. And that's for day games. I'd suggest at least an hour and a half-two hours. But that's just a complete guess, really. So in other words - your tentative plan sounds great, you're pretty much assured a front row seat.
  22. i'm not so sure... 2004: 687 PA, 168 K (24.5% K/PA) 2005: 481 PA, 118 K (24.5% K/PA) 2006: 498 PA, 94 K (18.9% K/PA) 2007: 503 PA, 65 K (12.9% K/PA) So? Whether it's strikeouts, pop outs or ground outs, he still makes the same amount of them. Last year he struck out almost 30 times less than 2006 in only two less at bats and his OBP still dropped. Dude you were just proven wrong, give up already. What? No he wasn't. Even though Corey's strikeouts have dropped he is still getting on base at the same low rate
  23. The fact that he's still playing is over his head.
