  7. bunt it to delgado, he'll find a way to screw it up again.
  8. ESPN is reporting 5 years $25M. "Walker will earn about $2 million this season, plus $8 million to $9 million in bonuses and possibly another $3.5 million in incentives over the length of the contract, according to his agent Albert Irby." Corey Redding of the Lions signed a 7 year $49M a couple weeks ago. Id rather have Walker than Redding. This appears to be a very solid deal.
  9. Somebody else wrote this in the other thread. There is something to stop us, it's called the waiver process. It's far more difficult to get anything good done in the waiver period. When was the last significant move made? Sure, Cubs/Mets made that "big" six man One Dog/Brian McRae deal a long time ago, but you were talking about a couple of also ran teams exchanging roster filler. I'm not going to say it won't happen, or it never has happened, but the odds that the Cubs can acquire anything that solves one of their 4 big holes during the waiver period are very slim. ...And since the Cubs will be in first place a deal will be harder because the crew will just block it :)
  10. Good thing the brewers didnt do anything. They had some good pieces to get a deal(s) done.
  11. My Refresh button now goes by the name Stand Pat
  12. Does anybody remember the day that Doug Mirabelli was traded back to the Red Sox on Wakefield's day to pitch? The Sox picked him up at the airport and he jumped out of a limo in full uniform and basically ran right onto the field minutes before the first pitch. Well this morning I was imagining the Cubs whisking Griffey from O'Hare to Wrigley in time for tonight's game. In my version though, the limo pulls up on Sheffield moments before the first pitch is thrown, and Griffey goes straight through the "knot hole" gate to take his position in RF. So long as he doesnt open the gate Todd Jones style and have it slam him in the face that would be awesome.
  13. They can have all the A ball prospects for all i care. Harvey, Dope, Smards. Put em all on a bus and just head north.
  14. I came to the conclusion that I will no longer listen to anyone but this board when it comes to evaluating the bears. This conclusion brings me great peace. These Bear threads are better than 99% of the stuff at ChicagoBears.com. Ill check for news there but dont pay much attention to the discussions.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2953545 The Bears have about $6M in cap space remaining for this year.
  16. Beginning of a very tough week. 4-3 wouldnt be bad. Philly has been hot of late, time for them to cool down.
  17. Good road trip. 4-2 is nothing to scoff at.
  18. You can never have too many good defensive lineman. The Bears are stacked up front.
  19. I like Walker a lot. Next to Harris this is sweet.
  20. Kool-Aid comes in colors other than blue, you know. I was thinking it had to be something injectible or snorted.... The Cardinal fans prefer suppository.
