    Assuming the Cubs can't compete in terms of prospect package, I'm hoping he goes to the Rays. Brewers/Dodgers/Braves would all be a nightmare.

    Kelly, Amaya, even Happ have played 1B before. I think they recently stuck Ramirez there for an inning as well. I don't think Craig would trust any of them to play a full, meaningful game there though.

    Mize might have been scratched for more than a trade reason. Apparently his velo was dropping in his last start

    Kelly is a a former Brewers 2nd rounder who's always had good stuff but a huge history of control issues. He's been a lot better in that regard since joining Iowa so I guess we'll see.

    The Giants were apparently trying to trade Robbie Ray before his start tonight, but he went out and pitched anyway. 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K ERA is really good (3.08) but the xFIP is ugly (4.82)

    Wonder if the Angels would throw in Ryan Zeferjahn in a Detmers trade. Walk rate is alarming but it's been a lot better in July and his K rate is fantastic.

    Justin Steele got hurt around the same time in 2025. It's a definite possibility unless everything with Horton's rehab goes 100% perfectly. And even if that happens you have no idea how effective he'll be.
