    I don't think Cade Horton had the changeup in college and that ended up being his best pitch last year, so I guess that would give me a little more hopium for Rabe.

    I'm surprised he hasn't been promoted already. He hasn't given up more than 1 run since May 27. Granted, some of those outings were 2 or 3 innings, but I think the only concern with him right now is strike throwing. Maybe he pitches one more time and goes to Iowa after the all-star break.     Can someone sell me on Daniel Jackson? Seems like he's not a lock to stay behind the plate and there's a ton of swing and miss potential. Where would you put him on the board with others like Rose and Strosnider?

    Sounds like Poteet is at least average defensively all-around, that's good to hear

    I was curious how bad the Cubs hitters have actually been at challenging because of how bad it's seemed. They're at 43% overturn rate, 36/84. So the eye test definitely checked out. League average for batters is 48%. Also, Fangraphs has a stat that measures the run value of batter challenges and Cubs are 23rd.

    There's a good chance Joe Ryan will be worth more wins in his next 40 starts than Rojas and Alcantara will be in their entire careers, and I like both of them. Not to mention Rojas is also completely blocked position wise.

    Agreed 100% I can understand it if it's just a no-hitter, but there is almost no chance he gets this close to a perfect game ever again. So he throws 120 pitches, given him some extra rest before his next start or just skip it entirely.
