  1. They are playing LA the weekend series before they play the Padres Mon-Wed. I live in San Jose, would love to drive down to LA and catch a game, then drive to San Diego, but not sure I can pull that off. Will probably end up flying to San Diego Monday morning, see the first 2 games, then fly back on Wed. Rizzo definitely gives us something to look forward to. Now we just need about 10 or 12 prospects as good as he is. :D
  2. Yeah, same here. I missed the game tonight, gonna have to catch the highlights. My nephew just got a job with the Padres. He told me to come down when the Cubs are there in August. Free tix to the games, so I think I'm gonna go and see Rizzo firsthand.
  3. Caught the end of an interview on the radio with a former player, never heard who it was, who played with Lee. He said Lee is a hugely successful businessman. Has a big cattle company in Texas and other businesses back home. On his off days he'd sometimes jump on his corporate jet and take care of his companies. After hearing that, didn't surprise me at all to see him go to Miami, which is closer to his home.
  4. nl needs to adopt dh NOW No doubt!!
  5. Any chance he can end up playing LF? With Rizzo at 1B, that would seem like the only logical place for him, if he can make it to the majors down the road. I like all the reports I've read about his bat, sounds like he has some serious potential. Given that he's not quite as good an athlete as Prince Fielder (I can't envision Prince ever playing LF), I don't think Vogelbach can pull off anything besides 1B. Thanks for the info guys. So many people talking about how good of a hitter he could be, would be nice to find a position for him. Who knows, maybe the NL will have adopted the DH by the time he's ready. :D Or ,like El Duderino said, he could make a valuable trading piece.
  6. Seriously. After glancing at his numbers, why the hell would they want to do this deal? Yeah, same here. He hasn't done much over the last 2 and a half seasons. Being that he's 36, I think it's safe to assume his best days are past and he's on the downside of his career. LaHair would be a better option for them.

  8. I thought I saw on the ESPN scroll earlier today that Lee said he would not waive his no trade clause.
  9. Na.....When he get's comfortable, it'll be like 1.50. :D
  10. I hear that!! Hopefully just the start of great things for Rizzo. Welcome !! Thanks Fred. I was on the old ESPN board, many years ago, under the same name. Nice to see some of the same crew here.
