  1. Yes....entertaining...... is laughing at idiots not fun? not for derwood at least
  2. I'm not sure what would constitute going off the deep end for him. Is he typing in all caps and threatening physical harm to players? went on like a 10 tweet rant about how and why all his teams suck and they will suck for the foreseeable future he likes to say something about how the next 10 years of chicago sports are going to be so miserable and I always want to point out that in the last 10 years the Cubs went from having the best record in the league, to completely gutting the team to nothing while under going a massive rebuild that has yielded 3 (hopefully 4 soon) straight playoff appearances and a World Series title. You can't give some rebuttal about poor management in place either because 10 years ago the Tribune Co owned the Cubs, Jim Hendry was the GM, and the ballpark was falling apart and there was no concrete plan in place for renovations.

  4. Would be hilarious if hitting leadoff again jump starts a slumping Rizzo
  5. Running into Wisconsin sports fans this week
  6. Everyone wondering why the hell the Cubs are in town with a hurricane approaching
  7. Have we really seen much of a bounce back from Schwarber? His OPS is 42 points higher, all due to higher BA and OBP, but his BABIP is exactly 42 points higher this year. His offensive value is pretty similar to last year and his change in WAR (from 0 to 1.6) seems to be heavily influenced by improvements in defensive value. To me there might be improvement but its slight compared to the 2nd half of last year. *waits for TT to bring out the fancy stats to make me look like a fool*
  8. I’m not sure if I agree about 2015. If we were gassed in 2017, it was blamed on the super short offseason most guys had. This year we’re gassed because we are playing baseball everyday and in the days we aren’t we are sitting in the clubhouse waiting out weather
  9. In a way, I agree. Even with the small samples of a 5/7 game series, I can't see them doing anything. Give them rest. Get another dominant reliever and backup C (starter for 40-50 games) and call it an off-season. Geez even UK with his baseball pedigree is saying these things. Not good.
  10. I did see a tweet earlier that Maddon is planning on leaving some guys here...Maybe it just in case they cant fly back Thursday night or Friday morning [emoji16] Great, that just means that the MLB will force the 10 guys left here to play the Reds on Friday when the rest of the team can’t take off in hurricane winds in DC.
  11. Let’s be honest the Cubs have been extremely lucky in the second half. They have a negative run differential over a 60 game stretch. They have not played consistently good baseball and they have been an average team at best in the second half You keep saying this, but it's cherry picked and doesn't mean much. Our RD for the whole season is over +100. We had a bad week or two of RD right out of the break, then we played well for awhile, and now we've had a bad RD stretch the past week. Extend the time frame more or cut it smaller and you can make it say whatever you want. The Cubs are good. They've played well over the course of the season. No amount of SSS cherry-picking is going to change the fact that this is a mid-90 win team. Do you agree that more weight should be placed on recent results than what happened in April? The offense has the 19th best wRC+ since the break and it’s been a consistent decline - 13th in July, 18th in August and 23rd in September. As for RD they were +0 in July (which includes pre-ASB), +13 in August and -4 in September so sure we can find little 1-2 week stretches where they’ve been good but overall the results to me show an average team for an extended period of time

  13. Hah. Any other Cubs MI would have had that except the homophobe
  14. That was Priors final major league game
  15. Not really only because the team will be coming into the Wild Card game having a scheduled game in 39 of the previous 40 days. Having 3 days of rest is a huge huge need for this team right now
  16. This team just has way too many problems. Starters injured or ineffective, bullpen gassed, closer hurt, 2nd best reliever randomly completely lost it, Bryant is like the 6th best hitter on the team, Rizzo appears to be going through one of his infamous extended slumps, the Javy bubble finally burst, Russell Happ Almora all are completely worthless at the plate. The offense is so bad I’ve seen many people anxiously awaiting Heyward bat returning to the lineup, the team is completely gassed and still has to play 7 more days in a row, etc etc etc
  17. I am going to throw a party when Chili Davis is fired after the season. A huge party
  18. What makes this team so up and down offensively? Seriously. The only Cubs team I remember being more streaky is the 2004 Cubs
  19. Didn’t he just come an inch from homering his last AB? To me that makes him the hottest hitter on the team
  20. This is embarrassing. Sure let the racist mow you down like this
  21. With this insurmountable lead it’s a good time to give him a low stress inning to try to get his confidence back
  22. How little does Counsell think of the Cubs offense? He lets a struggling right handed reliever face Murphy as the go ahead run instead of bringing in one of the best left relievers in baseball. And it works of course
  23. Jeez Russell’s season ops is .668? I knew he was having a bad year but that is pathetic
