Time: 7:05 CST Place: Comerica Park - Detroit, MI Channel: FOX It's time for the annual deciding of home field advantage game. I will update the starters and lineups as they are announced. For now post your lineup predictions Mine (based off of how I think the managers will do it, not how I would necessarily do it) National: 1. David Eckstein, SS 2. Jeff Kent, 2B 3. Derrek Lee, 1B 4. Albert Pujols, DH 5. Bobby Abreu, RF 6. Jim Edmonds, CF 7. Aramis Ramirez, 3B 8. Carlos Beltran, LF 9. Mike Piazza, C American: 1. Johnny Damon, CF 2. Brian Roberts, 2B 3. Alex Rodriguez, 3B 4. Vladimir Guerrero, RF 5. David Ortiz, DH 6. Manny Ramirez, LF 7. Mark Teixeira, 1B 8. Miguel Tejada, SS 9. Jason Varitek, C Let's get a win here for the NL and hope that our Cubbies take care of business in the second half (or SELL).

Yeah, I saw a story on him a few years ago in which they chronicled him watching game 7 of the 2003 ALCS against Boston with a mixed crowd of Boston/Yankees fans. It was pretty entertaining. That would be quite the irony if he was drafted by the Yanks.

Rusch took some unneeded pointers from Joe Borowski before he departed and it has messed with his head ever since
  5. UMFan83
I don't get it. The second biggest baseball country in the world Japan doesn't have an entry. Was Matsui really that busy during All Star Weekend? Even Ichiro could do it if he has to. Hee Seop Choi? Huh?
  6. UMFan83
Why does everyone have an interpretation of what MVP means. I means hes the most valuable player to his team. Derrek Lee has been carrying this offense all year, he plays D, has good speed and plays smart baseball. I don't think there is a question yet
  7. UMFan83
OK, Derrek has ANOTHER AB with runners on. Hopefully he gets a hit here before he gets the reputation of only hitting with the bases empty...
  8. UMFan83
    They've taken 4 walks 22 times???
  9. UMFan83
Umm, the Cubs work the count draw walks and get timely hits, while the Marlins retire by the time I get out of the bathroom. Am I in bizarro world??

He had one right in his wheel house. It's good to take pitches, but it's not good to take strikes. But the way Leiter was throwing there was a good chance he could have made him work even more. It could go either way there
  11. UMFan83
Seriously that was the most rewarding inning I've seen in some time. It's like a kid waking up on Christmas morning and getting everything he hoped and prayed for.
  12. UMFan83
So let me get this straight, Grady Little doesn't leave Marshall in too long, and his closer blows the lead for him. The guy just can't win can he?
  13. UMFan83
Hairston has been nothing but a stud since he started getting in the lineup. I love all the OBP potential in this lineup!!! :) (Yes I know 2 secs ago I was negative and now I'm positive)
  14. UMFan83
These are Cubs I remember. Thanks for the one day reprieve :)
  15. UMFan83
Pat sounded genuinely suprised that Neifi actually got a hit
  16. UMFan83
Off topic: what does your avatar stand for? Its "Yankee HATER" I've been meaning to change it though. It looks too much like the real Yankees logo
  17. UMFan83
Yup, Kerry should have just thrown a strikeout pitch, what a moran
  18. UMFan83
First Lowell and now Conine what is up with giving up HRs to hitters that have been struggling with power this year?
  19. UMFan83
Well now the only benefit of going through 5 is to keep Lee's HR on the books
  20. UMFan83
I forgot who is pitching, but lets hope he doesn't leave him in long after he's effective
  21. UMFan83
    Yay Neifi........
  22. UMFan83
Please Kerry, we know you like a challenge, but no first inning runs please. For once...
  23. UMFan83
Happy memories of Ramirez pullin a HR just fair :)
  24. UMFan83
Why are you guys happy with his numbers. You thought Corey was bad, Murtons OBP is actually TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY POINTS LOWER then his BA! With numbers that bad, I don't see how he can retain a spot in the bigs  ;)
  25. UMFan83
Don't worry, I don't think anyone is going to watch this game, looking at the radar
