Guys are cursing that trade on a daily basis. And its not like it was like the Willis trade where only insider fans really knew the value of what the Cubs were giving up. It was clearly a terrible terrible trade right from the start. -

did D. Lee really get suspended?? :shock: I kinda doubt it since it wasn't mentioned in the original report. WSI is worthless. Did anyone watch the ESPN Yankees/Mets game? That's where it was supposedly reported with DLee.

Yes, which he likely will appeal, as will Mabry I wonder what Derrek Lee will do if WSI is right. Will he risk being rusty by coming off the DL 5 days earlier then he would have or will he go through his regular rehab and miss 5 games.

Agreed good riddance. I'm sure he's a nice man, but the fact that he got absolutely no scorn from the mainstream media for his error makes me hate him even more. If there was no Bartman and the world concentrated on him, I'd feel sorry for him. Edit: thanks for indirectly bringing us Matt Murton though

WSI.com is reporting that Derrek Lee has also been suspended for 5 games for leaving the dugout while not on the 25 man roster. Not sure how valid it is though, but they claim they heard it on Sunday Night baseball.

Its also the Trib Co's fault for not letting them use more money. They lowered payroll while raising ticket prices and adding capacity. It's not like they are over the luxury tax. They are $20 some million away from it. They make as much revenue as the Red Sox I would guess, if not more. And their market has 4-5 million more then Boston metro. They should be spending more money on this team, but they just dont feel like it.

actually it wasnt. Michael said in the post game interview that he was dazed. He got up and the first thing that happened was AJP walked toward him going the wrong way. He then bumped Michael, which is when Barrett said a profane verse about not having the ball. AJP continued bumping him and Barrett slugged him. AJP said he was also dazed. He hit home plate out of "reaction." He was simply trying to pick up his helmet that was behind Barrett, which is why he was walking that way. The worst person involved was Anderson. Watch him on the replay. If he doesnt get suspended for 10 games, there is no justice in this world. No sense in what he did. Then I will stand corrected in the public record. If anyone's getting hit it's a Cub. Pierzynski shouldn't have even been ejected, he did nothing wrong, and if you think he did than you don't know baseball. Hard to take offense over someone raising his hands when Zambrano acts like a fool after every strikeout. Go away. I actually agree with much of what he said. It's hard to get upset over someone slapping home plate when they score when Zambrano dances around whenever he strikes someone out Is there another Zambrano on the team that does a dance every time he strikes somebody out? The Zambrano haters are as bad as the Zambrano apologists. And that guy is blatantly a troll. I'm not a Z hater, I love Z. I'm just saying that in my opinion, dancing around when you strike someone out is just as much showing up as slapping home after an exciting sac fly run.

Did anyone hear AJs and Barretts comments AJ said he was simply trying to grab his helmet, and thought Barrett was approaching him to ask him if he was ok (and AJ was going to ask the same) when he got punched. I doubt thats true Barrett said he had no idea why AJ was approaching him, and if he just walked to his dugout, nothing would have happened.
