I'm just going to have a drink or two at my house while watching the Brewers game, and then head the the game around 4. Tomorrow though I plan to be in Wrigleyville.
In a series where 3 games are on the road and 2 are at home does this really matter all that much? It takes one semi-lucky game by the pitchers to completely offset any home field advantage. So now you are assuming one of the Dodgers pitchers is going to throw a semi-lucky game, and that's the reason the Dodgers will win the series? Also, do you think that the Dodgers pitchers were selected by the team because they can somehow pitch better at Dodger Stadium while their opponents can't? Basically, do you think the Cubs pitchers won't also benefit by pitching in that stadium?
In my dream last night, the Cubs were up 3-1 and Marmol was on the hill so presumably it was the 8th inning. But then I woke up. Ever waken up after a good dream and get upset that it wasn't real?
Someone on Dodgerblues is saying this is the Dodgers lineup. Not sure if it was reported yet: Furcal, SS Martin, C Manny, LF Ethier, RF Loney, 1B Kemp, CF DeWitt, 2B Blake, 3B Lowe, P
Nah, not with a 1 run lead and a Danks on 3 days rest. Yeah but there is almost no power with that part of the order due up (Kubel wouldnt have batted). So if Danks got someone on, he could be replaced.
OhmyGod it's going to be Freezing in that ballpark. That feels like "54" is BS, especially inside that windtunnel of a ballpark with a 15mph wind. Looks like I'm busting back out the winter cubs coat for the first time since april. And the long sleeve underarmour. It'll be about 40 degrees warmer at game time in Dodger Stadium. There's never a bad time to brag about LA weather is there? Are you for real? Triple digit heat should be banned. It was horrible, especially in a suit. "54" is awesome (esp. when you're actually "working" at Wrigley during a playoff game). True, I didn't actually do the math that 54+40 = 94. I just assumed you were bragging about your weather. 54 is going to be awesome playoff weather. Definitely didn't feel like the playoffs when it was 85 degrees last year.

More accurately, why is this game even being played if the Twins won the season series. The NFL and NBA and NHL don't do it this way. Let's just throw the stupid All-Star game thing in the mix even though a team could win 150 game they wouldn't have home field advantage. Where to I get the application for Bud's job when he retires I think Spring Training games should have more meaning. How about they base HFA for a 1 game playoff on who has the better spring training record?
That's a good point. The Twins were getting good licks at his FB last week. I'm sure they will be going to Jenks though, its "baseball wisdom". I'm a moron

I would think it would be stupid for a team to play 162 games, tie for one of 4 playoff spots and then have to go home because you might have lost a couple of games against a team in May when your team isn't nearly the same team as it was back then.
Just thinking of recent games Rockies won at home last year Reds lost at home in 99 Cubs won at home in 98 Mariners won at home in 95 Red Sox lost at home in 78 What other ones am I missing?
I have a feeling DeRosa won't play Soriano, LF Theriot, SS Lee, 1B Ramirez, 3B Edmonds, CF Soto, C Fontenot, 2B Fukudome, RF Dempster, P is my guess...
