  1. Holy crap that was awesome....that makes up for the goal in game 1!!
  2. No stoppages in play...I need a breather aka commercial break.
  3. And just as bad of a goal. Tied up 1-1
  4. Speaking of bad TOs in their zone...could have cost us there too.
  5. 1st career playoff goal for Keith. Congrats.
  6. I guess the Hawks aren't the only team that makes horrible turnovers in their own zone!!!! Led to a goal!!! 1-0 Hawks!
  7. Preds on the PP. Can't like how this game has started out for Chicago. Well not Bickell really does get a penalty.
  8. Did you want Bickell to get the penalty? :)
  9. Slight edge to the Preds in play so far. Hawks haven't controlled the puck in the Preds zone yet.
  10. I wish I had some time off at work, I would have driven down for the game.
  11. Wins. Determines pitcher's success. It's no different then saying what you expect a hitter's HR's to be or something along those lines.Yeah. That's actually a lot different. Yeah wow.
  12. Ask sulley how he copes.
  13. The Hawks still have work to do obviously, but the Canucks are licking their chops at the possibility of a rematch against us. http://www.theprovince.com/sports/hockey/canucks-hockey/Canucks+lick+chops+thought+Chicago+Blackhawks+rematch/2950645/story.html
  14. I don't know if any credit should be handed out to anyone yet seeing as it's April, a time when the pitchers should be ahead of the hitters. I'm impressed by the start, but I remember seeing Marquis have a similar start in 2007 only to fall back in the 2nd half. That said, I am certainly enjoying this so far.
  15. Excellent. Though he better keep his head up tomorrow night. Especially if the Hawks have a couple-goal lead near the end of the game. hossa seems like a slightly dirty, but not overly nasty player. he's probably had his share of people come after him, he'll know what to do. I agree with the first part of that and I hope you're right about the second part. And since Hamhuis wasn't really hurt, I doubt he'll get it too bad as long as the game stays close. But please, please let's finish these guys off tomorrow. If yesterday's game showed anything, it's that we can dominate that team to a ridiculous level, almost completely shut them off from scoring chances, and still have a very good chance of losing. On a side note, yesterday's game was the first home Hawks game I've been to since 2001. And that was a Detroit game (the only games they sold out in those days) and it was about 1/3 or more Wangs fans. That game yesterday was probably the most awesome sporting event I've ever been to live, and the only thing close is the last Bulls game at the Stadium (Game 6 vs. Knicks in 1994 when Pippen posterized Ewing on the baseline). A lot of folks complain about the "new" Blackhawks fan, that they try to turn the UC into a Wrigley atmosphere, don't know anything about hockey, etc. No way. I was really proud of how knowledgeable the fans at the game were. Applauding the little plays that started rushes or broke up chances, stuff like that. And that place was obviously completely bonkers when Kane and Hossa scored their goals. It was really awesome to see for someone who dealt with the almost 15 years of [expletive] that was Blackhawks hockey. I'm really glad we drove up. And on another side note, Gino's East [expletive] rules. Glad to hear you had a great experience. I almost wish game 2 was that exciting, but I'm glad we had a relatively safe victory after the 2nd goal was scored. I think most people who hate the Cubification of the Hawks are just Sox fans who are trained to hate everything that seems Cub. I don't see why you should hate your team being made popular, as long as none of the marketing takes prescidence over the building of the team, it shouldn't be an issue. I do think the Blackhawk W flags are a little dumb though, and I can understand why Sox fans despise them.
  16. I was going to say if the Sox win, Cubs fans have to grow mullets, and if the Cubs win, Sox fans have to get a job. Get it? Because Sox fans are all unemployed (and likely homeless!)
  17. Yep, looks like you did. Poor Pirates. I would love to see them good again, and thats amazing because I pretty much never hope inter division teams do well. Be good but not at the expense of the Cubs.
  18. Chicago Bears Summary: Chicago was absent for two rounds, but tried to address needs when they entered the picture. The Bears neither reached nor got amazing value in Major Wright, the Florida safety. But they needed a safety, and Wright has a real chance to fill that void. Corey Wootton wasn't 100 percent in 2009 after coming off a bad knee injury, and could be a camp surprise. A decent pick. Overall, like any team stuck outside the top two rounds, the Bears were hard-pressed to find impact talent, but they were resourceful given their limitations. (The late add of a local quarterback never hurts.) Draft grade: B Thanks. Good to see the experts think we had a halfway decent draft. It's hard to get an A when you don't have a pick in the first 2 rounds.
  19. Anyone know what Colvins BABIP and LD% numbers are so far this year? Obviously a low sample size, but interesting to see none the less.
  20. I only wish Mozeliak was as stupid as Hendry and left him in the Cardinals lineup because he's making so much money (a la Soriano and the Cubs). It would be nice to benefit from another GM's stupidity for once, seeing as Pujols is finished.
  21. I don't think people are talking enough about how dominant the Cubs starting pitching has been this year. 19 games and look at how many quality starts we've gotten Zambrano - 2/4 Wells - 3/4 Lilly - 1/1 Gorzelanny - 1/3 (one of the non quality starts was 5.2 IP, 2 ER) Silva - 3/3 Dempster - 3/4 Overall thats 13 quality starts in 19 games. Pretty damn good if you ask me.
  22. Also 5-1 against Milwaukee and 4-9 against the rest of the league. Not sure if that means anything (it probably doesnt)
