    I heard on the score that Kane brought his infamous cousin on the ice and when an media guy tried to interview him Kane was like "THIS IS MY FAMOUS COUSIN!!" and the report goes "are you 2 going to share a cab tonight". Right after that Kane starts skating away and the reporter was asking him why he's leaving, and Kane replies "no more questions after that"

    Why must people throw beer, why, why? Why not? The Hawks just won a championship! The players douse each other with booze why not the fans?

    It didn't look to be bothering him when he lifted the Cup over his head! Ballsy Ladd...I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple different injuries revealed in the coming days.

    All I can say right now is: I am so happy. Great finish. I'm just happy its over. What an amazing celebration in Chicago tonight. Ahhh I waited 12 years for another championship. Wow. This is awesome.

    Pass. blackhawk fans already have a thread Truffle.....win or lose I wanted to tell you that you have a fantastic likable team (but you already knew that). One that, even though I am spouting confidence about winning in the BH thread, I am deathly scared of losing to the next 2 games. You should feel fortunate that your team is likely built to win for awhile. Maybe you'll have a stanley cup to show for it this season, maybe not. But bottom line is, your team is awesome and will be awesome for some time. Figured I'd write that now, because I couldnt stomach sharing that with you after a potential game 7 loss.

    I'm still wondering why everyone is allergic to KU in this. Money. There aren't enough people in Kansas to dramatically shift profits, and their football team isn't exactly rich in tradition. Neither are Mizzou, Oklahoma State, or Texas Tech. KU at least gets TV sets with their basketball team. Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas all have bigger populations. It's not about people in Montana watching because Kansas is playing, the BTN gets money based on the population of the state where the school is. The history is Nebraska's saving grace. I was gonna say. Kansas has 1 million more people in its state than Nebraska (2.8 M to 1.8 M). The difference is Nebraska football is rich and full of tradition, while its basketball team is not, and for Kansas its reversed. Football outweighs basketball big time in the discussion so Nebraska has merit, and Kansas does not.

    Besides, I'll be at a bar watching the game so most likely I won't be home during my customary 30 minute "freak out" period to post musings on NSBB. The only way I would is if we were getting blown out and clearly losing. At that point I'll probably be home before the game is over.

    Let's hope we don't find out. But I said all series long that I was worried because I hadn't seen a dominant performance out of the Hawks in the series and I was worried that the Hawks just weren't good enough to overwhelm this team. I was worried that they matched up with us too well and could neutralize our strengths. I was worried the Hawks werent getting to any rebounds in the flyers zone for putbacks. I was worried that the Flyers were getting their own guys centered in front of the net too frequently and we weren't getting physical enough with them. But I saw that performance in game 5. Like I said, I probably won't be posting here saying "don't worry guys I guarantee you we win game 7!!! Go Hawks!!" but I might say stuff like "the defense had a difficult time clearing the puck again tonight. We're gonna need a better performance in game 7 if we want to skate the cup around the UC"

    I should have specified, I meant the civil trial (actually I took many of those facts off a website because my brain wasn't working well this morning, and thats what it said on the site...they must have also meant the civil trial)

    Yeah...and I wasn't really arguing about the validity of the advantage...I just didn't know about the rule. I know you weren't arguing that, I just felt compelled to see how much of an advantage it really was.

    Just based on averages around the league, it looks like the home team's centers have about a 3-5% advantage in faceoff%. Obviously there are a ton of variables, and there are a rare few that actually fare better on the road than at home, but the difference isn't huge

If we don't win either day, I'm guessing there will not be a parade.

The writer basically says that the Hawks are still way underperforming this playoffs, and that this proves how much better the Hawks are than the rest of the league.

    BTW, if we lose tonight, do not expect an outpouring of negativity from me. Even if we get destroyed. I will of course be upset, and really nervous, but we've already proven that we can dominate this team, and that leaves me with enough hope that we could take game 7 if we lose tonight. But hopefully it doesn't come to that, and I don't think it will.

    I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post in this thread since you obviously have been posting in this thread for a reason, but part of me does think the Hawks win tonight just because the general consensus is that the Flyers win today and force a game 7. I swear EVERYONE is telling me that. But the other part of me has no [expletive] clue what is going to happen. It's just been a really unpredictable series for the most part.

    Things that happened in 1996: -The Bulls win 72 games and their 4th NBA title in 6 years -The Yankees win their first World Series title since the early 1980's -The Cowboys win their last Super Bowl to date, beating the Steelers -Bill Clinton defeatd Bob Dole and is reelected President of the United States -The Summer Olympics are held in Atlanta, GA -Princess Diana and Prince Charles are divorced -The OJ Simpson Trial begins -On October 27th at around 4:31 PM CST, a young umfan begins puberty Oh and also the Blackhawks won a game at what is then called the CoreStates Center, their last win in Philadelphia until TONIGHT

    need a sub? Haha, actually the captain of my team was just giving me a guilt trip because multiple people are backing out this week because of the game. Normally we usually never have problems with getting people to show, we usually have too many people. If you can get here from Iowa before 7:15 I'll see what I can do :)

    Kyle? That was me until I finally mustered the courage to get dressed and get to work. And I have a three hour flight this afternoon to AZ to calm the nerves. Was invited to dinner with some other work folks tonight. Obviously that's not happening. Oh my bad, sorry for confusing you with Kyle, terrible mistake (kidding Kyle). Luckily I have my busiest day of work this week today starting in about a half hour so I am hoping the day flies by quickly without much thought of the game. Also, since it is Wednesday, I have another kickball game at 7:15 today. This week I told them to screw off. I can't miss any moments in a potential championship game. I'll regret it if we lose, but I'd regret it even more if we won and I missed the first and 5 minutes into the second period.

    He's been strangely absent from this thread since before game 5. I think he said something about traveling but still. He was so cocky about being certain that the Hawks were going to lose the series. They still might, but I think he was saying it would be in 6 games.

    I think like raw said, the biggest thing I've read about Rudy is that he doesn't force his style on anyone. In order for some of the established players to benefit from his teachings, he has to earn their trust which can take some time. Hitting coaches aren't miracle workers, even the supposed best in the business.
