  1. Trestman says he didnt want to risk a penalty or fumble and that's why he kicked on 2nd down.
  2. Tried a 47-yard field goal on 2nd down with 4 minutes left in overtime rather than try to get closer. That's another reason why it was stupid. A tie is as good as a win relative to the Lions. There's 4 minutes left and the Bears have just rushed for 2 first downs. It was what 2nd and 7? Other than a fumble or a massive loss of yards, whats the downside in running 1-2 more plays? Yeah you might get a holding penalty but you don't lose the down and the defense probably plays back a bit to not give up the 1st. Oh BTW Forte has one of the best fumble rates in the [expletive] NFL since he's been here. Run 2 more times and [expletive] milk the clock. Get it down to 2 minutes so the Vikings have to rush their drive. Oh and how many [expletive] times do you actually see botch snaps on FG attempts? Maybe 3-4 times a season for the entire league? The only time you can afford to kick a FG early is if its inside 35 yards and its a game winning situation or you are out of time (obviously). There is absolutely no reason for Trestman to kick a [expletive] 47 yard FG on 2nd and 7. And THEN you add in the fact that the Bears have a terrible defense and the Vikings have Adrian [expletive] Peterson. Why do you even risk giving them a short field needing a FG to win if you don't have to??? Boggles my mind in so many ways.
  3. How does McCown have a 115 QB rating, Forte over 100 yards rushing and the Bears only score 20 points? Vikings had to have like 15 things go their way to win this and they got them all
  4. Bears playoff odds down to 7.7% after the loss
  5. That's gotta be one of the most annoying Bears losses in recent memory. Wasn't too painful, just extremely annoying
  6. it was stupid to pan it so early. question it? sure. but now its appropriate to seriously doubt his ability to be a head coach. it sucks because he made the offense good but these decisions are maddenly stupid.
  7. So in the last 2 weekends: Bulls season ends with Rose injury, Bulls go 0-3 in the 3 games played Michigan loses twice, loses to their arch rival on a missed 2 point conversion Ohio State then gets a clear path to the title game Michigan basketball loses once Bears lose twice effectively ending their season Go 1-5 combined in my fantasy leagues
  8. But no his research tells him that 90% of FG attempts on 2nd down are made and Gould is the 2nd most accurate kicker in NFL history and he forgot there's 4 downs in the NFL
  9. 2 games behind the Lions with 4 games to play 2-9 in our last 11 games in the Metrodome [expletive] you Trestman
  10. And its over barring a blocked kick
  11. I cant wait to hear Trestman's quirky long winded statistical explanation on why it was appropriate to kick a 47 yard FG on 2nd down.
  12. Seriously I hate Trestman so much
  13. At this point with 0 TOs left its either a tie or loss, with a loss being most likely
  14. Welp we won it, lost it, won it again and now lost it.
  15. this is absolutely correct. espcially when you have a terrible defense behind you that will have to defend a short field
  16. Someone tell Trestman this isnt the CFL and there are 4 downs
  17. And Vikings are about to win again.
  18. that is absolutely inexcusable for Trestman. Absolutely inexcusable. You are a good OC but not a good head coach.
  19. Seriously its 2nd down and we can play for a tie. I understand the possibility of a turnover or a loss of yards, but in my mind you have to run it. If Gould misses, the Vikings again have good field position for a game winning FG.
  20. I'm not a big fan of sending him out here at all although I have full confidence he makes it.
  21. wait what? This is too early to send him out. It's a 45 yard FG and its 2nd down?!?!
  22. If I'm a Lions fan I'm livid right now. Cant wait to look at their message boards if we win
  23. do not pass unless we get to 3rd and long. Remember that a tie is not the worst thing ever
