  1. Not a very good looking AB from Burnitz. We'll get to Carp eventually though. Hopefully.
  2. From what I've seen, I'd say a WHIP of anywhere from 1.00 to 1.20 would be considered very good and somewhat of a highly valued pitcher.
  3. Are you referring to our starting pitchers who have only given up a total of 15 ER in the last 9 games? :?: I'm not saying they are multiple run homers...just saying it seems like they have been giving up a lot of solo homers in the first few innings. But it may just be my short memory.
  4. Why can't our pitchers ever get through the first 3 innings without giving up a homer?!?!
  5. 8 pages before the game starts and then two posts in the first half inning of the game.
  6. Vance, tomorrow nights a school night. You're drunk every school night. School in July? Regardless, drunk JoshiQ tomorrow night as well!
  7. So far making the pitcher work at least a bit. Good sign.
  8. I'm really torn. I dont know whether to beleive him or not. My brain says NO NO NO NO NONONONONONONONO. But, boredom and lack of any other information wants me to beleive he is right. I'm trying as hard as I can to not believe this thread. I just hate it when stuff like "A guy from the Reds is getting sent to the bigs!" in the middle of a thread. It makes me have hope. Nothing is worse than hope.
  9. I hate threads like this. The whole time the thread continues I just continue to slowly rise my hopes and eventually it all leads to disaster. With Nomar I wasn't even around to see it until it actually happened so there wasn't so much stress.
  10. Reds do what the Cubs can't. Should be 2-2.
  11. Please don't let Dunn hit a homer...please!
  12. Jon, your pic of Z just made me spit out my beer.
  13. Tough decision between this game and the WSOP debut at 7. Hopefully we break it open early.
  14. I believe that is what Cpatterson20 was getting at. And I was adding on. Is it okay for me to do that? It is a message forum after all. Wow, tonight is not a good PR night for me. Can't be a bad PR night for a guy with Farnsy and 2Pac anywhere near their post.
  15. Grieve, Murton, Hollandsworth, Hairston, Dubois, or Greenburg could have carried the outfielder role. How the heck do you know that? You have only seen Greenburg in one at bat...and he got hit. Dubois struggled toward quite a bit this year. Grieve...well, he's Grieve. Holla hasn't shown much this year either, save for lately. I don't understand how you can just throw all of those names out there like that means something. Burnitz is going to start in right, Hairston is going to start in center. This leaves Gerut probably in left. I seriously do not see how he could be such a huge upgrade over Dubois or Holly. Grieve fits the pinch-hit role perfectly as a lefty power hitter. I'll admit that I don't know as much about Greenburg, but from what I've seen I think Murton is doing okay in the left field position. The problem I have is that if we are going to try for the wild card then we have to get somebody a little bit more established than Gerut of all people. Somebody that we already know will be a help. Even though Nomar didn't work out, he would fit this role. On the other hand, if we are rebuilding this year then this move makes some sense. Maybe Dubois just doesn't work out for the Cubs and we are going to try and make Gerut a good outfielder. That's fine. But if we are rebuilding then we better start making more moves then this. If this is a rebuild move or a move that sets up to a future move then fine. If it is to stand pat in the outfield, it's ridiculous.
  16. I think this is the most important question. Why get Gerut? We needed an impact outfielder or somebody strong in the pen. Gerut does not cover either of those positions. Grieve, Murton, Hollandsworth, Hairston, Dubois, or Greenburg could have carried the outfielder role. I still think this has to be a move to make a future trade involving many more players. Dubois for Gerut is a wash.
  17. What the hell is going on?!? Come on, Wood!
  18. After watching Abreu I'm kind of bored. Guess I'll switch to Raw. I'll keep a heads up for Choi.
  19. And still not care because we have Lee. Actually, a huge Choi fan. :)
  20. I feel really bad for Bay.
  21. Imagine if they actually had gotten Ichiro to do this and if he had to follow-up on Abreu....probably would have been worse.
