  1. He should have seen much more playing time in the regular season. I don't trust those who say the Bears must not have thought he was ready because I don't trust Lovie to be a talent evaluator. Urlacher for Cutler!
  2. He's saving money for Lebron in 2010. I remember when ESPN ran the finances of the NFL owners. The Bears have the single biggest market in the NFL, but weren't even in the top 5 in revenue. What are they doing wrong? But the problem isn't spending. The Bears are always right around the cap limit. They just spend unwisely.
  3. On one of the updates on the Score today, the lead Bulls story was that Noah made a jumpshot in the New Orleans game. Really. The story wasn't making fun of Noah, but it noted as to how he is improving. So a first-round draft pick made a jumper in the NBA and that is newsworthy! Oh but he is working and getting better. Please.
  4. Vinny has to cut his minutes dramatically to get it into his head that he cannot shoot the ball outside of 10 feet. Who does Tyrus think he is?
  5. Haha, classic UMF. It's not even the middle of March and you're panicking. It's not panicking, its called an opinion. Your opinion is filled with panic. If Carlos blew a game this early in ST, no one would care. On that last play, the guy just stuck out the bat and placed it perfectly. Nothing much you could do about it. But I never wanted Carlos to be the closer this year. I am not sure if he has the make-up yet.
  6. Why not? Outside of Rose, he is the only player opponents of the Bulls have to care about. If he was a #2 scorer on a good team, he would not get the ball as much, but would get great looks.
  7. Zambrano is a better hitter than Theriot. This discussion is interesting. For a guy who led regulars in average and OBP, outside of Fukudome, all of the other hitters I would consider better.
  8. Are you still pretending that it doesn't have a chance? Why do you think DeRosa was traded?
  9. There is no defense in that unit. There is no height in that unit. Salmons can guard a 2, but not a 3.
  10. Ben would be a second option on good to great teams. Incorrect. Why not? He averages 20 points and is usually the go-to guy on a terrible team. How many players who score 20 a game are not the second scoring option?
  11. I don't want Samardzija's arm wasted as a reliever without getting a shot at starting first. Without Jeff, the Cubs have one of the best starting staffs in MLB. Without Jeff the pen is just a notch above average. I'll take Samardzija in the pen.
  12. I think the team is better with Marshall as a starter and Jeff as a reliever than the other way around. The starting pitching is a strength of this team and the bullpen could really use his services. I don't want Jeff's arm wasted at AAA.
  13. Technically Lou said he is leaning that way, not that Fukudome is penciled in at the 2 spot.
  14. Well he doesn't have to hit .300, and there's no reason to think he can't put up a .350+ OBP. He has only averaged 240 AB's the last two years. His OBP is right at .370 for those two years (.330 or so in 2007, .390 last year). I just don't have any reason to believe he will be consistent with more playing time right now. I hope he does, but his numbers fluctuated so far. Time will tell.
  15. Ben would be a second option on good to great teams.
  16. I don't think he can hit .300 and have a .350 OBP for a whole season. If he wins the job and the Cubs don't land Peavy, the DeRosa trade was terrible.
  17. The question should be, how is Aaron Gray still in the NBA? He is the best offensive 4 or 5 the Bulls have. That is not saying much, but it is still the truth. Miller cannot play defense any better. As slow as Gray is, Miller is slower. He has also been making some stupid passes lately. Every time Brad shoots, he is dangerously close to getting blocked because he can't jump.
  18. I am about ready for Aaron Gray to get some more playing time. What does Brad Miller do better than him?
  19. Ben played great for most of the time, but he gets greedy and decides to take 27 foot three-pointers which I am not a big fan of. He will score 40 and give up 40.
  20. What was Gordon, Rose, and Salmons doing on defense tonight? I saw Ben just watch as Wade drove right past him and dunked. Ben literally just stood there. Thomas should have been in the game earlier. Almost all of Miami's baskets late in the fourth quarter and in both overtimes where right near the basket. Thomas was needed to defend the hoop. And when he did get in the game he had an immediate block and a dunk. The problem with Ben is that in crunch time he can't draw a foul and can't drive to the lane. Wade just torched them. I didn't know Brad Miller was this bad. All they do is put a pick up top and Brad gets lost in the shuffle. It was a good game to watch, but a poor ending to say the least.
  21. Can Northwestern make it to their first big dance if they win 2 games in the Big 10 tournament or is their only chance getting the automatic bid by winning the whole thing?
  22. Nice game by the Bulls. Noah is playing better. But boy, Brad Miller is slower than molasses.
  23. To get us ready for opening day, WGN made and is airing a new commercial. It showcases Len singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" with a rock band. Bob is playing the guitar with his hat on backwards. I used to think Len and Bob were cool. But I still love them. http://www.wgntv.com/chicago_cubs
  24. Julio Zuleta is playing the WBC. So is Bernie WIlliams. Wow! The coach of the Chinese team doesn't look Chinese at all.
  25. Did anyone notice that Rose was playing the final minutes of a blowout win during their last game? I wonder if Vinny did this to spite Paxson. "Hey Pax, if you want Rose in the game in the fourth quarter, here you go!" If that is true, I don't care if you do have to pay three coaches next year, he has to go. Once you are using players to advance your own agenda, you shouldn't be coaching in the NBA. I love the Bulls' press release yesterday. Deng needs "active rest" and the doctor encouraged him to challenge himself. Deng is weak stock. I knew this for a while. Fortunately, Deng is having a terrible year, so this doesn't hurt the team. This is probably the biggest game of the year so far. They need this win because the upcoming shcedule is very difficult (Heat, Celtics, Lakers). Tyrus Thomas, stop putting the ball on the floor. You can't dribble. You can't shoot fade-aways either. Who does he think he is? Dirk Nowitski?
