  1. Why? He wasn't going to be an amazing kick returner forever. Maybe not. But I would never take away opportunities from him until he shows that he can't do it anymore. This is akin to Lovie saying, "We changed our offensive strategy because we knew the defense would stop us, and we wanted to change it up before they could." Stick with what works until it doesn't work. In 07 the Bears led the league in field possession. Who knows what could have happened last year.
  2. I agree. They should never have told him he could be the number one receiver. Why would you want to move possibly the best returner in NFL history out of that position? This one is on Lovie.
  3. I guess there is no one to show it off to out there.
  4. I am beginning to think that Salmons is exciting. Noah is exciting. He excites my anger whenever he touches the ball and shoots with two hands.
  5. I don't care about having them there. It brings in more revenue which the Cubs could spend on players. I am just worried that the field will get destroyed like last time.
  6. The NHL paid for it. How much does that run? http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/chi-090318-wrigley-sod-pg,0,5942009.photogallery
  7. But as of now, both teams are in the playoffs. That would make for an exciting late April and May. As the baseball season gets started, having two more Chicago teams in the playoffs is exciting. Unfortunately, both teams look like they will be quick outs.
  8. I can't agree with that. To me, having fun watching a team is connected with the talent on the court/ice. The Hawks have more talent.
  9. Perfect. Thanks.
  10. Where is that website that allows you to see what the field would look like from particular seats?
  11. The reason Earl Bennett did not see playing time last year: he says he didn't know the plays until week 6 or 7. He must have Devin Hester disease. .http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-19-bears-bits-chicago-mar19,0,3686415.story
  12. Jason Goff on the Score tonight said that he doesn't think Derrick Rose has the killer instinct needed to be one of the best players in the league. He has talent, but Goff doesn't see his killer instinct and needs to take over games from the beginning to the end more often. I think it is a little early to make those pronouncements. Have you seen players strengthen their "killer instinct" over time?
  13. ST numbers for regulars aren't that important, but I see the value in them for guys trying to make the squad. When it comes to the last two roster spots, I am going to go with the guy who has better ST numbers. If ST numbers meant nothing for these spots, would anyone take a guy with significantly worse numbers than another guy? No.
  14. That would be terrible for franchise. They really need this. They (and we) deserve this.
  15. it's a miracle. best move the bears have made all off-season. Who is going to play RT? They have an unproven LT, an aging center, a young and average LG, and an old RG. Why did they have to lowball St. Clair? He played pretty good last year I thought.
  16. Easier said that done in a bad economy, in a player who has been bad and injured, and in a league that is saving for 2010. Jerry has eaten contracts before, but not one with $55 million left. Especially if he is paying three coaches next year. With that said, I wouldn't mind Deng gone. I had high hopes for him.
  17. Expect Deng to be remarkably healed very soon. Or maybe he is too soft to come back even when his starting spot is in danger. Is there any chance of getting rid of his contract this offseason?
  18. I follow the Hawks, but not as closely as some people here. What has happened to them? Injuries? A dry spell? Are they just playing badly? Rookie or second year wall?
  19. The Bears aren't cheap, at least on the defensive side of the football.
  20. If it works, I wouldn't mind it at all. But I haven't heard any rumors that the Bears are interested. What would Minnesota be willing to give up? If they landed Cutler, mail in the next 5 years.
  21. What about Briggs, how much was his signing bonus? Cutler only got a $1.7 million upfront, but those roster bonuses are killer ($16 million!). Can the Bears afford that without dumping one of their sizable contracts?
  22. Probably, but given the salary cap ramifications one year into his deal, I'm not sure it would work. The Bears gave Lance a sizable signing bonus. How far into his deal is Cutler? I am not sure the Bears would want to give up a good player, lose the signing bonus, and have to pay another to Cutler is he only had a few years left.
  23. The bigger and bigger this story gets, the more I realize that Cutler is a baby.
  24. I've heard that the Broncos don't want draft picks. Is that true?
