  1. 16th in QB rating last year.
  2. How can you not know how you feel about getting a 25 yr old Pro Bowl caliber Qb whos signed for 3 more years? He was 16th in QB rating last year and is .500 for his career. He is a whiny twit, but I hope he plays great.
  3. I cannot believe this. The Bears got a sissy! How is he going to fit into the blue-collar town that is Chicago? But seriously, nice move Jerry.
  4. His physical superiority combined with star-friendlier rules. Lebron is a big boy, but Jordan had the referees cell numbers on his phone and would call them for hookers. He was very close with them. I doubt anyone, with Shaq a close second, ever got the calls Jordan got. At the very least, Lebron doesn't have an easier go at it.
  5. How about Cutler for Urlacher straight up? While Cutler is weak stock (he cried like a baby after his name is implicated in trade talks, but he is a .500 career QB who made a number of poor throws late in the season), he is better than Orton. This situation is different from the 49ers who might not draft a guy b/c he won't open up to a total stranger about the divorce of his parents, but I am still a little concerned.
  6. Does this mean the Bears are not going to draft a tackle in the first round? Maybe a receiver instead?
  7. He scored a TD on that very play vs. the Bears this year!
  8. Bear football philosophy has been unplayable for 20 years. Maybe these rule changes will force them to adapt. During the last 5 years, don't the Bears have the third or fourth-best winning percentage only behind NE, Indy, and the Giants?
  9. A tie between: 1. Blue collar work ethic 2. Playing in Bear weather
  10. The Bulls are still pretty boring with him.
  11. Up until this year, Nocionni has better stats almost all around. This might be Salmons breakout year, but before this year, Nocioni was better. I also think Noc will have a much better year next year.
  12. and no one misses him. at all. His only chance at starting is if Salmons takes over the 2 guard and I doubt that. Lindsay Hunter played. Wow. He was almost in coach mode because he couldn't even get junk time. I was actually talking about Nocioni, but I guess it applies to Deng as well. The team is doing okay right now without either,. I liked Nocioni actually. I like Salmons better, but Noc could shoot the three, play some defense, and was a tough player for his size. If he hadn't shot so poorly early on, he would have stayed. He is labeled as a player who takes pot shots (same goes for Brad Miller!), but I never saw him intentionally try to take down a person out of vengeance.

  14. When Deng is finished "actively resting" watch out. I think he is still pouting since the day his buddy Nocioni got traded.
  15. Throw EVERYTHING at a whiny baby who has compiled a .500 record and is interception prone?
  16. I don't fault Dusty for this one. If you can't pitch back to back, you don't deserve to be in a major league bullpen.
  17. Last night's game was incredible. It was like the Lakers were just toying with the Bulls all night. Hey let's give them a lead for the home fans, and then in a 5-minute stretch absolutely crush them. That's exactly what happened.
  18. It is tough to send out an inconsistent player who can't shoot and doesn't even know his own skill set.
  19. I am beginning to think that Salmons is exciting. Noah is exciting. He excites my anger whenever he touches the ball and shoots with two hands. Tyrus is exciting when he's not handling the basketball. Ben Gordon has one of the prettiest jumpshots in the NBA. The only thing wrong about the Bulls is Luol Deng. And Vinny. And Paxson. And most of Tyrus' game. And Noah. And Ben Gordon's defense.
  20. The Bears could do better with their third pick than that.
  21. Which is why Jerry needed to get another WR. Hester is slightly above average. Slightly above average WRs are easily replaceable. I'm not sure how he qualifies as only slightly above average, and I'm not sure why anybody would assume Hester will never improve upon what he did last year. No height, no brain, no size. He has speed and maneuverability. This equals slightly above average when all is said and done. He has the Steve Smith skill set, but will never be Steve Smith.

  23. First off, he was their best receiver, so clearly he had something to do with it. And how does this defend the stance that they shouldn't have moved him. Moving him helped the offense and the team was better. They need line help and a healthy Orton or better QB. Hester is easily replaceable as a receiver. You get a receiver who has height, some speed, and knows the plays and he can reproduce what Hester does. I am not against making Hester a WR, but not an every-down receiver until he proves he cannot return kicks and punts. And I would like him to prove that without first tiring him out as a receiver. He deserves the chance to show that he can't do it anymore.
  24. I agree. They should never have told him he could be the number one receiver. Why would you want to move possibly the best returner in NFL history out of that position? This one is on Lovie. Maybe because you want your player with the most ability to score touchdowns to have more than 3-4 chances to score? Teams were kicking away from Hester already. He wasn't getting near the returns he should have. But the Bears were getting the ball at the 40 every time they did that. I'll take that.
  25. Why? He wasn't going to be an amazing kick returner forever. Maybe not. But I would never take away opportunities from him until he shows that he can't do it anymore. This is akin to Lovie saying, "We changed our offensive strategy because we knew the defense would stop us, and we wanted to change it up before they could." Stick with what works until it doesn't work. In 07 the Bears led the league in field possession. Who knows what could have happened last year. The point is it didn't work in 2007. They had an amazing returner and were still mediocre. They needed offense. Return games don't make winning teams. The offense was better this year than in 07 and Hester didn't have that much to do with it. At least it was until Orton got hurt. It didn't matter how good Hester was without a QB who can throw an accurate long ball.
