  1. He helped start the 80's-mid 2000 steroid era in Oakland. We'll never know how many home runs he would have hit. He was dirty early on. He was a home run-hitting beast from high school on: http://www.mcgwire.com/stats.html A lot of people were
  2. Anyone who hits 600+ home runs is once in a generation
  3. Sosa just barely beats out Mike Piazza for 10th in most WAR accrued during the years of Sosa's career, even when excluding his disastrous 2005 & 2007. He hit a bunch of home runs and became very popular. Don't confuse that with actually being a consistently great baseball player. Where does his WAR line up with Piazza's when Sosa was on roids? Point is Sosa only has HOF stats due to roids. He became once in a generation directly due to them.
  4. The type of performance enhancing benefits greenies gave and BALCO gave are world's apart
  5. Hank Aaron used [expletive] PEDs. Regularly. Were they legal? Could anyone legally use them?
  6. He helped start the 80's-mid 2000 steroid era in Oakland. We'll never know how many home runs he would have hit. He was dirty early on. What kind of player was Sosa before roids? Occasional All Star? Now he has all time great stats, far above HOF stats and once in a generation player. But yeah they don't do much. I mean he has to swing the bat right?
  7. Hank Aaron thinks PED abusers damaged the game. And so do the baseball writers. The veteran's committee will agree too. Most everyone but baseball forum posters think this.
  8. Tell that to Bonds who only became once in a generation after he took them. PED's made multiple once in a generation players (Bonds, Sosa, ARod). None of those guys would have been that good without them. Holy smokes are you comically wrong about this. What's comical are the number of home runs that Bonds and Sosa hit right when they began taking PED's. The frequency of their homers is directly caused by taking them.
  9. Tell that to Bonds who only became once in a generation after he took them. PED's made multiple once in a generation players (Bonds, Sosa, ARod). None of those guys would have been that good without them. Bonds and ARod were going to be clean HOFers, but we'll never know for sure. I think the price for keeping your PED enhanced stats is not getting into the HOF. They are part of the narrative of the steroid era, but the damage they did to the game is not HOF worthy.
  10. Doesn't bother me one bit. Me either. Just why exactly is ARod so worthy of the HoF after being caught using PEDs numerous times now? Because he was better than anybody else for a long time. Because he was on PED's
  11. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/07/jimmy-butler-bulls-offensive-t-shirt/
  12. Is ARod a repeat offender officially now?
  13. Has an accused PED user ever been shown to be innocent?
  14. Do we know how recently Braun was using them? Did Melky work with Biogenesis after his suspension from last year?
  15. This is getting really good
  16. A lot of players using sunglasses. There isn't much sun though.
  17. We get greedy because the Masters has very few commercial breaks, but it does seem that ESPN has a few too many.
  18. Tiger doesn't like to come back in majors. He likes the lead on Sunday and he hasn't had one for a while. He likes to dictate, but I just wonder if he is really feeling the pressure to win majors like never before.
  19. One of my favorite tournaments to watch. There is something cool about waking up, eating, breakfast, and watching major championship golf. Tiger (two back) in the second to last group with Adam Scott. This is the pairing a lot of people have been waiting for. Should be a great final round tomorrow. I think Westwood is going to win. Ballstriking is key here and he is about the best there is.
  20. So your mid first rd draft pick probably not a starter in year two means it's a bad pick
  21. Filthy 92 MPH sliders from Harvey
  22. What do you guys expect out of Wooten this year?
  23. Because nobody wants to watch [expletive] like that. Oh my god that would be boring. And what we have now is so exciting
  24. Why not an AS Game skills competition? Fastest home to 2B, most accurate throw to home, fastest pitch, most accurate pitcher? These guys have tons of skills that could be showcased. Might help people begin to forget about the steroid era.
