Wright wasn’t your 4th corner. He was the starter for most of the season. Stevenson got benched for him. I think Wright was 3rd in snap counts on defense.
It’s a lot better than it used to be. It was terrible for the first game because the city had 3 concerts a week before the first game and the Bears have no control over that and the new sod didn’t have time to grow in.
The city of Chicago members of the Illinois state house won’t vote for any tax or infrastructure breaks for the Bears in Arlington Heights unless the Bears pay more than their already agreed on exit fee. The city is looking for $100 million, which is what Cleveland got when the Browns moved. Do I have that right?
“The tug-of-war over the Chicago Bears continues between Springfield and Indianapolis. Illinois legislators filed a bill late Wednesday evening outlining tax breaks for the team in an effort to lure them to Arlington Heights. That bill is expected to be brought up in a committee meeting on Thursday morning in Springfield. In Indiana, lawmakers are expected to send a bill to their governor on Thursday, clearing the way to fund a stadium in Hammond.”
The Bears have no real interest in Indiana. Warren would have probably been fired already, but that would hurt the Bears’ bargaining position with the state of Illinois.
All just political posturing according to Dan. But what happens if Kevin Warren calls wolf too many times and Illinois tells the Bears to shove it? Will the Bears cough up more money to stay in IL? They don’t want to be in Indiana as great as the deal for them might be.
Nick Friedell mentioned on the Score yesterday that AK was Michael Reinsdorf’s first big hire and he just can’t let him go because it’s would make him look bad. He’s a Reinsdorf all right!
