That's not a sequence I want other teams to see right before the playoffs. That's a way to eliminate Contreras and Jon ain't exactly in 2016 form as far as limiting baserunners goes

Yeah I think he's gotta be the game 1 guy. Immediately following his DL stint, I was pretty sure we had another Randy Wells situation on our hands, but now it feels like he's 2016 Hendricks again. It would bring me great pleasure watching him out-duel Scherzer throwing 10 mph slower and moping around, while Scherzer is stomping around the mound throwing with max effort.

Wade isn't exactly young and there are some red flags in his numbers, plus the injuries last year buuuuut, I really don't want to see him leave. Interesting decision with him in the offseason

If I'm remembering it correctly, the umpire reacted as if he got shot. You can always count on an exaggerated reaction by an umpire to any slight bump. Eh, after watching the Lawrie one again, I guess the ump's reaction wasn't as exaggerated as I thought. And Lawrie threw it more in the direction of the ump than Willson did. I can't imagine his punishment will be as severe

Yeah having a super short leash for Montomery and then leaving Grimm out there forever to fully put this one away is odd when you have a bunch of relievers to work with.

Avila really doesn't do his pitchers many favors when they miss their spot by even the tiniest bit.

That AB by Zobrist was worse than any Javy has ever had where he chases like crazy. horsefeathers. He was straight up hoping to get walked.

Holy horsefeathers, Heyward's catch in the first inning had a 7% catch probability according to Statcast. He made it look a hell of a lot easier than that.
