    You're wasting your challenge when you use it on a tag play. They just won't overturn that when you can't 100% see when a tag was applied.

    5 K's, 0 BB's through 4 innings. 6 hits and 5 were grounders that found holes. Lester's been good tonight.

    Righties hit Sanchez much better than lefties do. RHH have a .366 wOBA, LHH a .313 wOBA. Probably why Lake is starting over Coghlan.

    I don't think Zagunis, McKinney, Dewees, Happ, etc. are good enough to affect what happens with Schwarber... or at least I don't think they will affect that decision more than Montero. I'm still in the "Kyle Schwarber: major league left-fielder" camp.

Actually, the more I think about it, a fractured ring finger isn't something you worry about lingering or affecting future performance when the player comes back. And the Phillies probably don't give a [expletive] if Javy contributes anything in 2015. Maybe they don't even care about this injury.

    Can't imagine it'd be Hamels since our biggest trade chip (not counting Schwarber whom I doubt would be available for Hamels) just got hurt (also taking away the possibility of Castro being traded right now). Papelbon would make sense, though.

    Normally, I'd agree of course, but this is a unique situation. Everyone's projecting him to do something without really seeing him do it, until today. An outing where he goes deep into the game while maintaining velo, all while having a cleaner delivery than Fulmer...does that push Jay ahead of Fulmer on the Sox's board (Law and McDaniel both said they have Fulmer higher)? Does it give the Rockies that extra nudge to take Jay even if Rodgers is available?

    Day before the draft, I wonder how much of an impact today will have on where he goes. Since it's only his second career start, I think it could have a pretty big impact. For the Cubs' sake, I hope he's not too dominant.
