  1. Ugh, Jalen Rose. He's the worst.
  2. Don't care. I still wouldn't have believed that they could win 12 games going into the year even knowing that fact. Heath has done a very nice job there. They just won 20 games 2 years ago. But, how many were non con? Not that I remembered them winning 20 lol. 9-9 in conference. Of course they had Dominique Jones, but I think being terrible last year is jading people's opinions of where the program was.
  3. Where are these security guards supposed to be stationed during the game? You want an NFL, or at least MLB situation where there's security every 50 feet. It's not feasible at all, and it's totally unnecessary.
  4. It's nothing like any other position in baseball.
  5. Again: secure the court. This should be standard operating procedure No. 1 in any incident. They didn't have to be prepared for players running into the stands and attacking fans (I agree, they really couldn't have been prepared for that then). They just had to be prepared for something to happen and know that, if something/anything happened, they should secure the court. Even at Colts games in bland, boring, Indiana there are security guards on field-level approximately ten feet apart watching the stands. No, those security guards aren't likely to prevent professional athletes the size/strength of Artest or Jackson going into the stands; but they would absolutely prevent Turtle from running onto the court. Secure the court?? Make sure to protect the 40 guys on the court and let chaos reign among the 3,000 in the courtside section? You're speaking with hindsight that nobody else was going to follow Jackson into the stands to protect their teammate. That Ben Wallace wasn't going to get him some of Artest with some fan backup.

  7. I think you guys are expecting a lot of security to be prepared for players running into the stands and attacking fans. I'm sure they're ready for that now, but I doubt "What to do in case a mentally unstable player from the other team jumps the scorer's table and goes to attack a fan" was in the employee handbook. I blame the referees more than security.
  8. They were, but they seem to have gotten better when it matters most. Good for them. Stan Heath is an outside contender for conference coach of the year. He has to be the favorite. Has to be. Nah, it's the emptiest 12 win conference record I've ever seen. Still it is at South Florida. That's like a guy going into the Big 12 a couple of years ago and winning 12 games with Colorado. No matter what his conference schedule looked like he should get coach of the year imo. The coach and school can't help the conference schedule. Right, he had nothing to do with the conference schedule breakdown, so he shouldn't be rewarded for getting to play it. Each Big East team plays 3 teams twice. USF got the 13th, 14th, and 15th place teams twice.

  10. I'm not sure there's an analogy that's going to sound good here.
  11. Jose played like 8 games/year the first 12 years of his career, and Bengie was terrible by the age Yadier will be at the end of this contract.
  12. Let's ask Meyers Leonard who he'd pick. I don't get it? http://dailybigten.com/2012/02/09/meyers-leonard-not-impressed-by-northwestern/ Meyers and I have that in common.
  13. I think Sosa was just trolling a little. Who does that kind of thing?
  14. What's so insane about this, is short of an even bigger season from Molina this year, can anyone see him getting this contract on the open market?
  15. I don't think that it means that there will be less sellers, but certainly more buyers. It's a zero-sum game. 30 teams total. If there are more buyers, then by definition there are fewer sellers. (Unless you think there's a third, "none of the above" category.) There is.
  16. Well, Indiana is locked in at the 5 seed now at least. No, but IU does have the league lead in FT attempts locked in. Nope, by my calculations, Michigan and Wisconsin hold 2, 3, and 4 team tiebreakers over them, while Indiana has 2, 3, and 4 team tiebreakers over Purdue. They're tied in the standings and play each other Sunday. Whoops, for some reason was thinking Purdue was a game back.
  17. Welp, mineaswell drop 15M on him then.

  19. Unless they changed something, it's record vs the top team in conference, on down until the tie is broken.
  20. I don't believe there's a single seed settled. And if I figured it out correctly, tomorrow's game won't settle any seeds either, regardless of who wins. ETA: he's right IU is locked at the 5.
  21. I was reading an article the other day that was wondering the same thing. It was concluded that they were a RPI outlier or something. Saying the RPI is a flaming load would've been more accurate. ETA: I'm not exactly wild about USM at #16
  22. They've beaten 2 tourney teams (MSU and Seton Hall) and their only other win that has even a remote chance of making it is Illinois.
  23. Let's ask Meyers Leonard who he'd pick. I don't get it?
  24. This guy on ESPNU can't speak English.
