  1. I'm pretty much the only Illinois fan saying it, but I'm pulling harder for Washington so we can go to the Sugar Bowl. That drive to New Orleans is a lot easier/cheaper than the flight to Pasadena. Plus, New Year's in New Orleans has to be insane. Pretty sure you are the only Illini fan saying that. I'd be ecstatic if both Illinois and Hawaii made BCS bowls. Go Sooners. Well I'm going to be rooting for Oklahoma and Washington regardless(Arizona too) to guarantee as best as possible the U of I BCS game(WHOOO $5 + face, don't say I didn't warn you before) If it's in Pasadena though, I'm only going if Raisin gets me into a celebrity New Year's. Probably at his house or something.
  2. I think IU wins, but I expect them to get brutalized on the boards -- and that's without Dickey playing. I even root for Purdue in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Take one for the league and root for the Hoosiers. Oh I definitely will root for Indiana. I guess I can say it'll help our RPI too.
  3. Not to take anything away from Illinois, but thats one of the most asinine things that could happen. And I've read that too. Just ridiculous that we'd get passed up just cause the Rose Bowl wants a Big Ten team. Anyways Illinois is gonna be good for the next few years so let's just let Mizzou go to a BCS bowl this year. Hopefully Mizzou just beats OU so we don't have to worry about this. I doubt it happens that way. There was a BCS expert that said--and you missouri guys are gonna love this--if mizzou loses there's a good chance BCS takes KU over MU. It's possible, cause KU is a better story, but I'd have to think Mizzou football travels better than KU. The problem for Mizzou guys relating to Illinois is if we get Rose, there's no way the Orange passes on Georgia. If they get Georgia that leaves Fiesta deciding between 2 Big 12 teams or a local team that won't draw in the tourism in ASU. Having 2 Big 12 teams is unfavorable enough, but having OU/Mizzou round 3(when OK won the first 2) just isn't going to happen. I think both get shut out in that situation though.
  4. No. Could see that making sense though. "While the rotation was mediocre at best, the Nationals will once again not have Kevin Millwood in their rotation in 2008."
  5. I'm conflicted, I'd like IU to lose every game they ever play for the rest of their lives...but I'd also like to stop being embarrassed by those Fs to the east.

  7. I heard he lead his 4th grade team in scoring last year. 2010 isn't that far off, he's a sophomore right now. Illinois got Jereme Richmond to committ barely into his freshman year.

  9. Evidence that draft pick compensation needs to go far far away. But I'll take it.
  10. Give him the low base this year ~4M and make the option high like 9M next year.
  11. Raines, Trammel, McGwire, Blyleven, Dawson. I'm big hall, but could probably be talked out of any of the last 3. Oh, and Goose and Rice will get elected, and Raines will get some criminally low amount of votes. ~27%
  12. wins don't matter, write Meph? Not a lot, write Ryan.
  13. Useless without pics. Oh and if Hawaii beats Washington, and ASU beats Arizona, then you guys are gonna have to lose for me. Sorry guys.
  14. These 2 teams might not win 20 games combined this year. They're brutal.
  15. Vazquez destroyed us last year. Hopefully a healthy Frazier will neutralize him this year. You still follow MSU hoops TT? And PSU fans, I honestly think you could beat VA Tech. I just refuse to believe Penn St. is as bad as they shown. That and VA Tech doesn't impress me. That 6th win is going to be the toughest for the Big 10. I probably wouldn't give better than 20% chances for any of those games(including the UM/BC game), but Wisconsin has a very real shot at knocking off Duke if the zebras stay out of it. The only games I'd bet large sums of money against the Big 10 are Northwestern and Ohio St.(And even UNC looked beatable against a Davidson team that's no better than OSU.) Conversely, the only Big 10 team I'd lay money down on is MSU. Edit to add: The ACC is favored in 5 out of the 6 first games with only IU favored to win. This is embarrassing. Go Hawkeyes!!
  16. Big 10/ACC Challenge begins tonight with Iowa hosting Wake. Could we please just beat these bastards once in this damn thing? My blueprint for a Big 10 win: Iowa over Wake. Neither team is good, and Iowa has homecourt advantage. IU over GA Tech. GT isn't so good, IU is, and is at home. Minnesota over FSU. FSU has losses to USF and Cleveland St. on the year. Minnesota is no great shakes, but they have an actual coach now. Leonard Hamilton is also an idiot. MSU over NC St. Game is at Breslin and NC State is not a top 25 team IMO. They got bailed out against Nova and lost to New Orleans. Illinois over Maryland. Similar teams rank-wise. Illinois has 3 wins better than Maryland's best. One common opponent(Northeastern) in which Illinois had the slight edge. Michigan over BC. BC has played nobody thus far, so will hopefully not be in midseason form yet. Game's at Ann Arbor, and I'm out of wishcasting.
  17. Think how angry you'll be TT when it's a team you beat(though you shouldn't have) that gets the BCS spot over you :)
  18. I would be some of those incentives involve starting games.
  19. Derwood, you bring up this fantasy conference scenario at least once a month, and once a month I tell you how you can't force a conference to take in teams it doesn't want. Who is the Big East supposed to add just to appease your 12 teams per conference rule? Conferences go beyond football, and go beyond athletics as well. Forcing member schools to admit other members that aren't up to par is unfair to everyone. A Pac 10 with Boise and BYU is not good for the other 10 schools. A Big East with Memphis, UCF, Army, and Navy is not better off.
  20. It must be a North Carolina/S vs Nova thing. I remember a gift that the Heels got in an NCAA playoff game too. I remember it well cause we wound up losing to the bastards in the title game they didn't belong in. I had also picked Villanova to win that game in my pool. Bastards.
  21. If Missouri and West Virginia lose while Va Tech and LSU win...and Va Tech makes it over LSU...I can't even describe how criminal that is. Funny, but criminal nonetheless. Not that it matters cause West Virginia will make Pitt look like they're coached by Dave Wannstedt.
  22. Of course. He deserves to have the inside track. Instead, he'll be traded for beans. Not even the magic kind.
  23. LSU killing Va Tech is what keeps the SEC up top. That was a very impressive win that no other conference can match. It makes the ACC look terrible as well.
