  1. You mean message boards without heavy-handed moderation are actually fun? Who knew?
  2. Considering Dopirak has already been at AA, your "prediction" would be pretty meaningless, now wouldn't it? Do you post just for the sake of posting most of the time, or do you ever have actual content to contribute? Just curious.
  3. See truffles post regarding 95% of the board having their period at the same time. Funny and true. Hah... I figured it was dkwg's attempt to call me out. Doesn't really bother me. Truffle's right, though. Wow, it really is obsession. I hope you wear a monitoring bracelet. Leave me alone.
  4. Is it just me, or is this the absolute EPITOME of trolling? I'm so pleased to see you're obsessed with me, even though I try to ignore you. You should really get out more. I guess if I "upgrade to premium" then I can put you on my super secret ignore list, that would be swell! I sure hope you post a reply with a wagging finger emoticon, that would be a real zinger.
  5. Where's A-Rod? Did we trade for A-Rod? Murton isn't in the lineup tonight? Hmm......I smell A-Rod.
  6. Kline is a total ***** that wanted to bean Mark Prior in the head. Sweeney OTOH would be a good pickup. Nice bat and can play several positions, making him more valuable than Ward.
  7. Jones and Eyre for A-Rod, plz.....pleeeeeezzzzzzzzzeeeeeeee
  8. Haha, Cobs do nothing again this year, no trade help. Yay!!!!
  9. That took all of one post to completely derail.
  10. If you acquire Dye, you can let him go in the offseason and get one or two draft picks--and potentially pick up a prospect better than the one you deal to get Dye in the first place. So...I'd send the Sox both Murton and someone like Buck Coats or Carmen Pignatiello and see if that was enough to get a deal done.
  11. What position players have the Cubs given up on that became great for someone else? Maybe I am forgetting someone that is obvious, but the last young position player I can remember being traded by the Cubs who then went on to have a good career is Joe Carter. That trade worked out fine for us. Rafael Palmeiro says "hiya."
  12. What little love the fans have for the O's in Baltimore is concentrated around Miggy, who it's safe to say is the fan favorite over there. Given all the bad ink Angelos gets, and the fact there is zero chance his ballclub can contend, why would he give away a player the fans genuinely like?
  13. Zack is going nowhere. Dotel is as good as gone though, and it looks like there might be a buyer for Emil Brown--thankfully, that buyer is not the Cubs.
  14. This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on here. Will you be able to go on living next week when the Great Adam Dunn isn't a Cub? Goodness, the Cubs have no chance without him! The whole Adam Dunn circle jerk--THAT is the dumbest thing I've ever read on this site. It's moronic, it's imbecilic, and it's beyond boring.
  15. You can't be serious. This post doesn't really even deserve a response. What a joke. Fanboys, LOL.
  16. Wow, that Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey just KILLED the Cubs this weekend, I'd be in a big rush to throw three good prospects Cincy's way for either one of those studs! Can we get a moratorium on any and all talk relating to these two ballplayers once August 1st arrives? Please??
  17. For crying out loud, go beg, plead and scream at the Tribune Tower, scrape together every spare buck you have available, and get the suits to agree to a long-term deal extension for big Z **RIGHT NOW**. Seriously, get it done, that would be better than any trade scenario out there.
  18. The Dodgers are the team that makes sense because of their endless stream of high quality, high ceiling young prospects at all positions. I bet you could get the Twins interested in moving Santana if LA offered, for example, Kemp, Abreu and Lu.
  19. I'd pick up Ensberg and see if he can play some 2B. Considering nearly every other 3B can do it, I bet he can, too.
  20. Mahay > Eyre, absolutely. Mahay > Ohman, probably. Mahay > Rapada? Not sure. If the Cubs do not like Soto for whatever reason, how about a trade of Ronny Cedeno and Soto for Laird and Mahay? Frankly, I'd do that trade and I think it is fair value for both teams. Not exactly a difference-maker trade, but could be something useful.
  21. That's a wrap for one night. 7 games over seems to be the hurdle here, but at least Markey de Suck won't pitch in Cincy. Out.
  22. Wow. I think it's hard to even TRY to conjure up a trade that lopsided. Texas should never trade with any team ever again, for their own good.
  23. Are you seriously using win/loss as a basis to your argument? Hill gets no run support, and win/loss is a terrible stat to judge a pitcher The man thinks Don Kessinger was good. What did you expect? Nice, attack someone without provocation. Good for you.
  24. I couldn't agree more. Kendall has a past, and the hope was to catch lighting in the bottle. Maybe coming back the central will wake up his bat. I don't see the big deal, its not like Bowen or Hill are any good anyway. I still hold out hope he'll adjust to NL pitching soon and help the club. I totally agree with both of you. When you look at the crap that is available and what the GMs are asking for it, getting Kendall was a decent move. 90% of the players mentioned are players in the "hope to catch lightning in a bottle for 2 months" category. And furthermore, sometimes it DOES work. With the Cubs for example, how about Gary Gaetti in 1998?
