I just think John Henry is probably smart enough to make the right decision and ignore the inane rabble of the masses.

I wouldn't be too upset, in my mind this shows that Ricketts is serious about his search for a stats guy and what not. I believe that we get out of this with a good GM regardless of who it is. I'm with rocket, and I'd be willing to bet most Boston fans already would like to find someone else. Think of how you'd feel if you knew your GM didn't want to be here anymore. I'd be thinking: get lost then. Don't want you around. Doesn't matter what the fans think. Owners already took him back once after he walked away.

i guess i'll accept that It would be so bizarre if he did this. Marketing/PR move to keep the meatheads happy while Theo can focus on rebuilding the organization from the minors up and hopefully have a consistent winner starting in a few years. Why would it be just a marketing/PR move if he showed interest in him well before he took the job?
