    Yea, someone has some bad sources or the sources they have were merely speculating.     Not sure if this has been posted but the Cubs have been granted permission by MLB to hold the presser tomorrow. This might be the most anticipated press conference in team history.

    Man, it must suck to be a Cardinals fan right now and have to deal with this. Yeah, it must really suck watching them win game 1 in the WS. I'd much rather be in their shoes, of course. That said, the fact Ricketts is under their skin at a time like this makes me smile.

    If this is right, I can't imagine what it is the Cubs DID give up. How in the heck did they wear the Red Sox down that much over the course of week or so? Well, I think it boiled down to a disaster for the Red Sox if they did not get it done. Theo and Luchino really are at a point of no return with each other. Henry feels scorned by Theo and after the initial bitterness wears off, they had to move on.

    Speculation or supposed rumor? Bigggggg difference. Message board speculation = a b2b trade proposal Supposed rumor = big bird Speculation. However, Boston's management's desire is very strong to move Lackey and the Pads do have interest.

    Not sure how Rosenbloom is employed. There is no question many of us here on this board can write more insightful columns compared to this gas bag. Anyway, I was reading the forums at SOSH and there is speculation that perhaps, (again, perhaps) that Theo has already made his first move. Basically, the Pads have shown interest in Lackey. There could be a scenario that Theo and the Cubs will absorb part of Lackey's contract and send him to SD. By doing this, the Cubs do not have to send two top shelf prospects to Boston. It's no secret Luchino and Henry want Lackey gone. If this is the case, it's not too far fetched that the deal might go down that way. Hoyer (for the Cubs picking up some salary for Lackey) then comes here as GM and everyone is happy.

    From what I read on sosh, Theo is like a son to Gammons. This partially explains Gammons rant today on the Cubs. Gammons is hurting.
