    yea..for all the talk about the yankees and being "fiscally responsible" i would be shocked if they didnt back up the brinks truck and make him a very wealthy Yankee for life.

    i think this signing is a precursor to McCarthy on a multi year deal..they are apparently friends who have trained together...hoping for McCarthy as a future rotation piece. Definiely wont hurt our chances i believe

    SO is Samardzija not the same value as say a Hellickson? Shark has alot less wear and tear on his arm? Sorry but everyone here always goes bananas about trading shark but what is his value if not another teams top prospect? Would we trade Baez for Hellickson if we were ready to compete? I realize Meyers is a GOD to some but really? a TOR arm in his mid 20's with 4 more years of team control isnt worth a wil meyers? Agree to disagree then i guess.

    Are you talking about Wil Myers? If so.... LOL. The Royals are listening to offers for Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Alex Gordon, Billy Butler, and even Wil Myers.     Would love to see what it would take to get Moustakas. He could be a core guy at 3b for years. Makes Baez available for a TOR potential arm. I know the Royals are looking for SP they can control. If they called and offered Moustakas+Meyers for Samardzija+Barney+Russell i would be tempted.. Now before i get flamed for overvalueing Shark or undervaluing Meyers let me explain The royals would have shark for at least 3 years of control. They have toyed with the idea of moving Moose and moving Gordon back to 3b. Shark would be a great value to them as he would to us. I would hate losing him without getting back arms but for 2 core pieces i do it. Turn Baez into Bauer or Skaggs? Core of Castro+Rizzo+Meyers+Moustakas+Bauer with potential Almora+Soler on the horizon

    If you did sign those guys and acquired Ubaldo then do you look to deal Samardzija? I know its not a popular thought here but he could fetch a tremendous haul because of the control years left...granted its about to start getting expensive but he is still a bargain. Sign McCarthy+Villanueva+Liriano Trade for Jimenez+Chisenhall Samardzija+Chisenhall to KC for Moustakas+Odorizzi++??? something of that nature...Just tough to find value for Samardzija

    said it before but if we could get anderson by taking Coco's salary then sign me up. Andersons 5M+Coco's 7.5M (12.5m total) is alot of relief for the A's

    Can Uggla play 3rd? might be a decent option for us if he can handle the position. If not he has more value at 2b with something to prove after a down year.

    i agree. would rather build around him. Maybe try and swing an Andrew Oliver or Crosby from Detroit for Dempster and Dewitt. I also think that if Bjaxx and Rizzo come up and really provide optimism offensively coupled with the lack of starting rotation depth in the minors makes us big players this offseason for starters..I think we should extend Garza then add 2 FA high end starters- why not? we will have plenty of money coming off. Plus going cheap with Bjax+Rizzo+laHair+Castillo/Clevenger+Castro leaves plenty of cash- Hamels Garza Shields/Grienke Smardazija Maholm

    soto+byrd+ Barney for upton+Brignac+Davis. of coarse this would only be possible if we found a taker for soriano. that outfield defense would be ridiculous Cf-Upton LF-bJAX rf-Dejesus...cespedes waiting in the wings..one word= DEPTH. I"d take it. Upton could net some nice pieces come trade deadline..
