  1. C'mon! What fun would that be and is there anything better than an image of our clueless leader?
  2. http://drodd.com/images/jim-hendry.jpg "You and your facts".
  3. We'll be fine once Woody gets back. Seriously, it will be interesting to see how empty Wrigley is this week.
  4. So we stinks and Wrigley stinks?
  5. But next to Hill, he is Johnny Bench.
  6. Why would he get bigger? He came to camp both this year and last year having shed a few lbs. Guys like Geo usually do. I like Geo but he is not close to an untouchable player.
  7. Geo is not exactly the type of guy who strikes me as a fitness nut. As he gets bigger and he is unable to stay off the DL, he will be of no use in a few years.
  8. Yes, injuries are the reason we had Doug Davis start tonight. The fact we could not find someone better than Doug Davis is the bigger problem.
  9. This team might lose 100 games. 8 months until pitchers and catchers report. At least the hot stove will be fun this year. We stinks.

  15. I hope he changes his mind. He's been my favorite Cubs player for a while now, but it's time to go. “He doesn’t even want to take a trade. He took less years and less money to stay in Chicago (in 2006), so that is definitely his first option,” Kinzer said via phone from Florida. “Aramis has a full no-trade clause, so he doesn’t want to go anywhere. He’s a 10-and-5 guy and I don’t think he’ll go anywhere. We will have to see when it comes to that.” http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-agent-ramirez-wont-give-up-notrade-clause-20110607,0,414526.story

  17. The Nats are having the best draft, IMO. I wanted Goodwin in Wrigley. Here is what Roy Clark, the Nationals’ vice president of player personnel said in summing up the organization’s picks — Rice third baseman Anthony Rendon, Kentucky right-hander Alex Meyer and Miami-Dade City College center fielder Brian Goodwin — on the first day of the MLB draft: “These were three guys we identified very early as a scouting department. We didn’t think there was any way we’d get two of them, let alone three of them.” Every team loves its draft picks on the day they make them, but the Nationals’ giddiness seems to be at least somewhat justified. In Rendon, they got the most polished hitter in the draft (and the top overall talent, according to Baseball America). In Meyer, they got a flamethrower they were considering taking at No. 6 at one point. And in Goodwin, they got a five-tool center fielder-leadoff man. Rizzo on Goodwin: “He’s a guy with five tools, a table setter with some power. He’s a plus-plus runner, a plus-plus defensive player and he has the ability to lead off.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/post/nats-brass-giddy-over-teams-haul-on-day-one-of-mlb-draft/2011/06/06/AGvFXiKH_blog.html
  18. pretty sure he was picked late 2nd. Yep. Nevermind. The Giants took him.
  19. Yes, the Nats are having themselves some kind of draft. Player: Brian Goodwin Position: OF School: Miami-Dade Junior Collefe Date Of Birth: 11/2/1990 Height/Weight: 6’1/190 Bats/Throws: L/R Class Of: 2013 Previously Drafted: 2009, 17th Rd, White Sox Scouting Report: Brian Goodwin is a top athlete and one of the most dynamic talents available in the 2011 draft. Goodwin is filled with potential offensively. He has a good approach at the plate and is willing to take a walk. He has plus bat speed. Goodwin’s swing is not geared to for hitting home runs, but he should be in the 10-15 home run range. He is also a threat to steal once he is on base. The only drawback for Goodwin is that he does tend to swing and miss a bit too often. Goodwin should be able to remain in center at the next level. He covers plenty of ground and has a plus arm. His breaks and routes need work. Goodwin should be taken somewhere between the later 1st round and the end of the supplemental round. His game needs some polish, but there is plenty of potential here.
