  1. No offense CardFan, but that is one of the most preposterous things I've ever heard. Asking the moon is one thing, but to suggest even half-seriously that it would take that package is way offline.
  2. *insert Dusty Baker comment regarding race and heat*
  3. He's telling it like it is. Either Prior was simply awful that inning, or the Cards are that good. I don't think he was overjoyed as much as surprised like all of us. I can understand perhaps using that inflection on maybe the 2nd ant 3rd homers, but he sounded wayyyyy too excited when the Nunez ball went.
  4. Jon Miller is really getting to me tonight. First, he sounded overjoyed on those homers. Second, "the Cardinals with an AWESOME inning against Prior." Jeez, are Buck and Morgan rubbing off you you, pal?
  5. That wasn't good enough on a 3-0 count? Screw you, blue.
  6. A sac fly from the second baseman....hmmm...wouldn't that have been helpful last night. I really like Walker.. but we kept the wrong second basemen.. He's having a career year with hitting for the cycle and having good power.. Uhhh, no. His OPS dropped close to .200 points between the end of May and now. His hot start obscures what he really is. I wouldn't mind Grudz if we didn't have Walker or Hairston.
  7. And by right now, you mean from the beginning of April until today.
  8. The catcher bunting for a hit with the pitcher coming up? WOW.
  9. Well, that came out of nowhere, and really screws the pooch on the Burnett trade, no?
  10. Ha, send down one of the relief pitchers. Unless you are sending down the manager, too, that ain't happening.
  11. Relaford is being released today to make room for Andy Machado. Do you think he's worth picking up, perhaps to replace Macias (which I know is never happening)?
  12. Well, as much as I badmouth Neifi, I think his coming in to talk to Novoa after the blown call in the 8th was integral to us not losing the lead in that inning (yes, providing more false hope). I think that brought Novoa back in the game and I give Neifi partial credit on the Dunn K.
  13. I wonder if this game will provide the impetus to pull the trigger on a Kearns deal...
  14. Very good catch. Look for it as #1 on the web gem tonight. A little looper to right center that Hairston came in full speed on and laid full out to catch. Reminded me of the catch Corey made in Milwaukee to start the DP...but without the DP.
  15. Well, see, that's a Dusty Baker opinion if you ask me. Pierre is a veteran presence now, sure, with some sort of track record, but his numbers this year at the top of the lineup are garbage. We are much better off with Hairston in that position, if you ask me. I would just like to see him be a bit more of a speed threat.
  16. Well, the near .400 OBP is one reason, the youth is another, his relative inexpense another, and the power yet another. Yes, I do still really want Adam Dunn.
  17. I think Francona is trying to get some of the relievers in there. BJ Ryan comin' now, then Baez probably.
  18. ARam with a walk now. 1-2 with a single, a walk, and a GIDP.
  19. I read that there would be pitch count limits, to quell the protests on that count, no pun intended.
  20. Andre Dawson just hit a softball to the warning track in left field of Comerica Park. He almost came out of his shoes. It was a few feet shy of going out. What a prodigous shot. Did anyone else see it? And Chelios is playing too, repping the Cubs with his cap. He hit a triple after Andre's homer. Most impressive.
  21. I dunno, looking at his stats, I would say he has as strong a case as Clemens and Willis. I'm not sure who I would choose, but I am leaning towards Clemens.
  22. Don't let it happen again. :P
  23. I beat the mods, I beat the mods!
  24. Montanez with a single to right. 1-2 with a HBP and a run scored. Not bad...
