  1. We could try to replace Dempster with his AL buddy C.J. Wilson, but I don't know how much he would cost at this point.
  2. How much flexibility in payroll will the Cubs have next season? Or is that still up in the air?
  3. Nice post. The holes at third and second are what worries me the most. Third Base FA Jose Bautista (31) Wilson Betemit (30) Casey Blake (38) - $6MM club option with a $1.25MM buyout Jorge Cantu (30) Eric Chavez (34) Craig Counsell (41) Joe Crede (34) Mark DeRosa (37) Greg Dobbs (33) Edwin Encarnacion (29) - $3.5MM club option Pedro Feliz (37) Jerry Hairston Jr. (36) Wes Helms (36) Omar Infante (30) Felipe Lopez (32) Jose Lopez (28) Melvin Mora (40) Nick Punto (34) Aramis Ramirez (34) Miguel Tejada (38) Omar Vizquel (45) Second Base FA Clint Barmes (33) Ronnie Belliard (37) Willie Bloomquist (34) - mutual option Robinson Cano (29) - $14MM club option with a $2MM buyout Jamey Carroll (37) Luis Castillo (36) Alex Cora (36) Craig Counsell (41) Mark Ellis (35) Jerry Hairston Jr. (36) Bill Hall (32) - mutual option Aaron Hill (30) - $8MM club option for 2012, $8MM club option for '13, $10MM club option for '14 Omar Infante (30) Kelly Johnson (30) Adam Kennedy (36) Felipe Lopez (32) Jose Lopez (28) Aaron Miles (35) Augie Ojeda (37) Brandon Phillips (31) - $12MM club option with a $1MM buyout Freddy Sanchez (34) Rickie Weeks (29) Unless we can steal Rickie Weeks, or Bautista, those lists look pretty god awful. I would imagine we would have to pull off a trade, but for who? Or do we resign Aramis to a 2 year deal? The Cubs have a very very interesting situation coming up after this season.
  4. Can't they just sign him after the season?
  5. League is up and running. Stats Offense - R, HR, RBI, XBH, AVG, OPS, NSB Pitching - IP, ERA, WHIP, K/9, QS, NSV, W 25 man roster. 15 offense with 4 outfielders and 6 utility spots. There is no bench. 10 general pitcher spots. 5 DL spots. Trading drafts picks will be in play. Right now, I am looking at having 12 teams, with 16 as the maximum. If you post you are interested, I will PM you the details.
  6. awesomely random rant...a couple of those lately keep up the good work
  7. blue jays could, but i think they will be gunning hard for prince texas, athletics?, nationals, orioles My main concern is being able to woo Mr. Fielder in the off-season. There are a handful of teams that are going to be able to make a run at not only him, but *possibly* Pujols.
  8. Yep. They are going to work out some deferred after contract payments for Albert. I would honestly be shocked if they don't sign him. There is no way the finance boys didn't project Matt's contract without knowing Albert would be following in the near future.
  9. I love what the Orioles have done. I strongly believe the Blue Jays, Rays, and Orioles are going to pound the crap out of each other all season long. I think all three of them are very similar teams. Tampa Bay isn't going to win 90 games this season.
  10. The best movie I have seen on the list is Inception, but I have yet to see The Social Network of The King's Speech.
  11. I know I have been apart of a basic H2H league here the past two seasons. The league was just for fun, no fees. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in possibly taking that league and making it a keeper league? The only thing that worries me is participation. It seems a handful of folks dropped off pretty fast over the last two seasons. I have the basic outline of how I would run the league as commish, so let me know if anyone is interested.
  12. I haven't been following any media junk except for what has been posted in this thread. Cutler officially isn't a bitch, which I knew all along. Our team left their hearts on the field yesterday, and lost to a superior team. I look forward to next season, and hope Cutler bounces back stronger and more refined. DA BEARS!!!
  13. Awesome. Thanks for posting that! Starlin [expletive] Castro
  14. This is seriously stupid. I am going to go ahead and say medical reports will come back in favor of Cutler not playing. It isn't going to be a big deal after that. Forget about Steve Bartman already? Right, because a medical report and Bartman really show lots of similarities. Then we can also tack on the Cubs v. Bears respective histories.
  15. That was tongue in cheek, right? Biggest game in Chicago sports history???
  16. This is seriously stupid. I am going to go ahead and say medical reports will come back in favor of Cutler not playing. It isn't going to be a big deal after that.
  17. Man, some of you guys will find anything to bicker about. Considering the circumstances, the Bears did an awesome job today. They lost. It isn't the end of the world. It isn't like they were the greatest team ever and got upset.
  18. YAY...i want to hear from the losing side already!
  19. I tell you what, I am really not that disappointed. They showed tremendous heart.
  20. One more stop defense. You have been amazing. Bring some more pain!
  21. I need a hero!
  22. One more stop guys. Give the kid one more chance. I still believe.
  23. Maynard is excellence. I am going to buy the t-shirt.
  24. this defense can hold em again, right?
