    Why do you think the Cubs have been below average in developing position player talent, and what plans do you have to improve in that area? The Cubs are unique because the fans are passionate, the local media is intense, large market, large payroll, and of course they haven't won a WS in forever. How would this unique situation change your general managing philosophy, if at all? What current or former GM's would you regard as the best at their profession?

    haha, that was the year that someone gave Morandini a vote. The game really was so different back then. 15 guys in the NL alone with 100+ RBI's. 9 with 120+. Check out Barry Bonds' 1998 statline. Holy crap. you could probably spend 5 minutes with your jaw dropped looking at barry bonds' br page

    i agree, but it isn't happening. most cubs fans still hate sammy for not playing in the meaningless game in 2004. also, it's pretty hilarious how robbed mcgwire was of the mvp in 1998. i don't think sammy wins it in 2011 if they had identical seasons

    Derrek Lee and Ryan Ludwick will lead them to the ring I at least hope they win 82 games this year. Of all pro sports franchises, the Pirates fans (both of them) deserve a winning season and some hope. Completely disagree. They've sucked for 20 years. Big deal. Pirates fans are Steelers and Penguins fans, and their teams have won multiple titles since that time. this just hit me. is pittsburgh the only city where all their pro sports teams have the same color scheme?

Like I said, I'm a big hall guy and would have all of them in there. But there's a case. i believe trammell and larkin should be in the hall
