    Carlos Gomez is one of the guys he's mentored. When? There's no overlap in their careers that I can see. Not sure where. Maybe in the offseason but Gomez has talked about Manny texting him after games etc.

    What will the quality of play be like for an event like this? My level of interest in soccer is typically the World Cup / Olympics. This seems like a really cool opportunity to see top level soccer in Milwaukee. Is it?     Also ignoring the fact that Conte might not even be healthy at the start of the season. All 4 safeties that had any value are gone now. The Bears really [expletive] up in hindsight and should have taken Clinton-Dix. Who were our starting safeties in 2010, 2011, 2012? How was our defense then? If we get a top corner and defensive tackle between today and tomorrow it's not time to kill ourselves just yet.

    I think if the Kings score first they beat the Sha arks. I'd like to see the Wild beat the Avs. There ought to be at least 1 upset in round 1. I don't really care about Flyers/ Rangers. Flyers / Pens is usually fun. Weren't the Blackhawks technically an upset?

    Any idea when Game 1 of round 2 will be? I'm guessing somewhere between Friday and Sunday? If Colorado wins tonight could it be as early as Thursday?

    I think it's amazing and I'm glad it happened right in their stupid, smug, rebuilding faces. I'm kind of torn right down the middle on this. Local media people in Milwaukee are already making those jokes and they piss me off so I must still care. That being said, I hope the embarrassment hurts the Cubs leadership a lot more.

    Didn't I read somewhere that if Noah got DPOY some incentive would push the Bulls over the luxury tax? I think they can get to the tax anymore because someone got claimed, Erik Murphy?, they won't get to the tax even if Noah got DPOY and/or if Taj got 6th man of the year (I think that was the other one that could push them?) Ahhh, ok, thanks.

    Glad to hear it. It was also the best decision for himself. I don't know what next year's class looks like, but I have to think he stands out better next year compared to this year. Next year has three top centers. I think staying another year is the difference between the late 1st round as opposed to the mid to late 2nd round this year. He's not going to be a lottery pick unless he really improves. He should turn into a useful NBA player though.

    AJ Hammons will be back at Purdue. Maybe we won't finish last next year.

    He was not terribly far from getting fired prior to the end of this season(for some reason). The UT crowd didn't seem to care for him, so it's not much surprise to me that he capitalized on the strong finish this year to get out. Strange that he would go so far from his recruiting ties. Though to be fair I haven't looked at where his recruits at UT have come from so maybe he was casting a wider net than I thought. Good for him to move on to where he's wanted and presumably paid more.
