    Have there been any reports or rumors to this? Rumor is no Tampa coaches will be allowed to leave with Maddon, with the possible exception of Martinez interviewing for but not getting the manager's gig and thus allowed to pursue other interests. I understand they're bitter but how does forcing guys to stay in a situation they don't want going to help the franchise going forward? This stuff never makes sense to me. The GM left, the head coach left, and the hitting/pitching/bullpen coaches are going to be forced to stay in a situation that's vastly different than what they signed up for?

    If one were inclined to argue the "losing control of the program" narrative, one could make a rather credible argument that the exceedingly light punishment of Perea set the standard for that. One thing I read, and I'm not sure it's 100% accurate, was that this is Robinson's second failed drug test, plus he got the illegal consumption/fake ID charges with Yogi.

    Not to put too fine a point on this, but Holt was over the legal limit because he's under twenty one years old. For adults, the limit is 0.08 ACE; for those under twenty-one, it's 0.02 ACE. So Holt committed both minor consumption and the operating offense. Good point, I should've said he wouldn't have been impaired. Though legally I guess he was. So he'll face an OWI charge, I assume the penalties are increased because he hit someone with the car?

    IU's Devin Davis in 'serious' condition after being hit by a car driven by teammate Emmitt Holt. Sounds like drinking was involved but it's only mentioned because they're both minors.
