  1. Purdue looking really flat at Penn St.
  2. They're completely ignoring that he landed out of bounds?
  3. who is this Bree fellow He's running the autocorrect on my iPad....
  4. Did Matt Flynn just put Rodgers' MVP in jeopardy when combined with Brees' day today?
  5. Our free throw shooting is rubbing off.
  6. Uh, he's one of the most efficient scores in the nation. You're not a checker if you hit them. the whole damn team are chuckers, actually Oh we've got our chuckers, just not him. He's the best pure shooter on the team off of screens. He definitely can't create his own shot though.
  7. Uh, he's one of the most efficient scoreRs in the nation. You're not a chucker if you hit them.
  8. Hummel is averaging less than 4 FT attempts per game. He's almost solely a jump shooter.
  9. Wow Rose. Love the crowd booing the MVP chants...
  10. Time Warner in Milwaukee still doesn't have WGN in HD. Yeah, I know, it sucks....
  11. Carroll can't guard anyone near as quick as Leonard or Zeller. He also can't score on them. I'm honestly not sure if the kid can dunk, I've never seen him even try that I can recall. He seems like a great kid, he's just outmatched as an athlete. Lawson is tremendously athletic and has a B1G body so he won't get pushed around - but he plays like a true freshman and gets into foul trouble (with last night being the exception). Marcius has the same trouble as Lawson with less athleticism. If Lawson develops any sort of jumper he will be a stud but right now he just gets cleanup dunks and layups and has a little bit of a hook shot that he can score with on occasion. He should be playing as a 4 if we had a true C. When Hummel is on the bench it's not unusual to see 6'7 Lawson and 6'5 Byrd as the 5/4. Next year with Hammons and Simpson coming in along with Hale coming off his red-shirt year we will actually have a respectable front court. Of course Leonard and Zeller may be gone by then. edit: sorry I put Lawson as 6' 9", he's more like 6' 7", I think.
  12. Terone Johnson is beyond terrible from the free throw line. Seriously, if someone held a gun to his mother's head and said Johnson only had to hit four of ten to save her life, he'd be better off making funeral arrangements. If Purdue has a slim lead with less than 5-6 minutes to play, he probably shouldn't be on the floor. Byrd has had a couple solid games in a row. Painter needs to continue to give him more playing time. Yeah, he might be the worst free throw shooter in the country, no joke. Unbelievable coming from a 4-Star guard! It really reduces his usefullness as a player because his bread and butter is driving to the rim and drawing fouls.
  13. "Rivers said rookie E’Twaun Moore is expected to take Avery Bradley’s bench minutes beginning tomorrow against Detroit. Bradley has not scored in 19 minutes this season" http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/articles/2011/12/29/jermaine_oneal_struggling_with_celtics_in_early_going/?rss_id=Boston.com+--+Boston+Celtics+news
  14. We didn't take advantage of your small lineup and get it to Basabe enough in the 2nd half. Everyone was so worried about getting to the line once we were in the bonus that we just got a lot of wild forced shots off the dribble. Overall though our offense was pretty impressive against that defense. Too bad, that was a good opportunity for the win. Good crowd on break but every time it got loud and everyone was on their feet Purdue blew past us for a layup or kickout 3. Purdue was just the smarter team and we couldn't keep them from getting into the lane off the dribble. Yeah, I don't know too many Purdue fans that were confident going into last night, after losing in your building with JJ and E'Twaun last year. It was definitely a game Iowa could have won down the stretch.
  15. I'll take that. Iowa has some nice players and Basabe looked good. He couldn't miss for most of the game. Purdue shot a disgustingly normal 64% from the line. Winning on the road in the B1G ain't easy (just ask Crean) and Iowa had a huge free throw advantage. I've been missing that kind of performance from DJ Byrd.
  16. I think Crean took down a whole kilo of blow during the last TV timeout.
  17. IU was getting blown out and then went on a crazy run hitting 4 or 5 threes in a row.
  18. Well, here's why UM is cancelling the ND series. I would say Purdue probably will too. I can't imagine playing 9 B1G games, Notre Dame, and a Pac-12 team. One cupcake a year? We would never make a bowl. I read that wrong the first time. I still think they will drop it. Stanford too? Are they going to want 9 conference games, ND, and a B1G opponent? USC has already been playing B1G - Minny and OSU most recently. edit: I guess my point is that this could put ND in a real bind, no? 5 of their regular opponents are B1G/Pac-12 teams.

  20. All B1G teams to begin playing a Pac-12 team each year, in 2017. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/story/2011-12-28/big-ten-pac-12-scheduling-agreement/52253122/1
  21. Considering the circumstances, it's better than I could have hoped for Probably b/c it's not going to happy. I love that espn is making PSU look even worse. Munchak is the current target, even though he already told PSU that he's not interested. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7395510/report-mike-munchak-tennessee-titans-penn-state-nittany-lions-top-coaching-choice Maybe they can get Danny Hope. Yes, please.
  22. Purdue's Rivals staff just released their Iowa game preview and listed him as a projected starter. They are the ones that mentioned him undergoing tests for a stress fracture so I'm assuming they would know if he was going to be out. At least I hope that's the case.
  23. I guess it's for recruiting purposes. He actually has a decent (for us) recruiting class coming in and not having four years on your contract makes it tougher to recruit. That being said, I'm not a Danny Hope fan at all.
  24. No doubt Leonard is a lottery pick.
