  1. If I had to guess I say the Cubs dump Bradley on anyone who wants him. With Bradley gone Hendry looks to Tampa Bay who may be looking to trade either Upton or Crawford to make room for Desmond Jennings and salary relief. I think Upton is more likely to be dealt and Hendry makes a play for him. With Upton on board Fukudome moves back to RF. At 2B I think they go after either Iwamura or Figgins in free agency and make Baker the "super-utility guy ". Figgins/Iwamura Upton Lee Ramirez Fukudome Soriano Soto Theriot Wouldn't surprise me to see something similiar to this in 2010. It gives Lou his much desired speed at the top of the line-up and also makes the Cubs much better defensively. It does leave us again without a lefty masher but I don't see any being available for the Cubs to pursue that make sense.
  2. The DeRosa trade looks to have ended up being a smart move by Hendry. All 3 young arms performed well and he found a younger, cheaper, and potentialy better option in Baker. It hurt our team in the first half with Ramirez's injury and the Fontenot/Miles suckfest at 2B but now at the end of the season looks much better.
  3. Kinda surprised to see some people so passionately defending Bradley. I can't really think of anything he's done well this season except draw walks. The Cubs need an upgrade in the outfield somewhere, I could very easily see Bradley or Fukudome dealt. If he does return I'd put him in the #2 spot for next season, he seems miscast as a power bat in the middle of the line-up.
  4. I'd be fine staying in house for the 5th starter. Gorzellany has shown me enough that I feel confident he'd be a perfectly acceptable back end guy in the NL. It wouldn't surprise me to see Hendry go after Sheets as a fill in at some point, a lot like the Red Sox did with Smoltz. I'm not as upset with potentially losing Harden as some are on here. He really hasn't had a good year and with his injury history I'd feel hesitant to give him a multi-year deal.
