  1. Mccown is definitely capable of moving this offense.
  2. Well, the children's hospital at UW is top tier, from what I understand. And I don't know what his son is battling, but the cancer center here is incredibly well regarded too. I'm sure LA is great, but combine all the other benefits of Seattle and it's easy to see why he'd be interested in UW but not USC. To avoid misconception, I'm not at all arguing that UW is the best gig in CFB or even better than USC. I'm just saying it makes sense for Peterson. Yea I agree with you. Honestly who needs USC from Petersons perspective. He clearly was comfortable with Boise and now he's seeing if he can compete at the highest level. He can do that at UW with more time and less pressure than SC. I'm on a plane bound for Vegas to do a full day at the sports book tomorrow. Watching sports in the pacific timezone kicks ass.
  3. Id have to think LAs hospitals compete with Boise's and Seattle's.
  4. Per the new playoff committee. Does anybody else expect it to be almost exactly like FIFA?
  5. Because they are anticipating a greater level of retail action on Auburn. The "Notre Dame Effect"
  6. Bama has a better team than Auburn...no dispute from me. The same can't be said for the Georgia team Auburn played. You mention games against LSU, Mississippi State, and Wazzou, but you neglect a change in scheme that occurred after those games. Auburn didn't start running the read option until the Texas A&M game, and the mastery of this has become their bread and butter. Many people pick a two point favorite to lose when they are the home team. Why would a two point dog at a game being played at a neutral site be given a slight edge? I get all that. But the problem is that you are applying an element of nuance that you would not apply to the other side of the argument. I could say 'every time somebody gave OSU trouble they went to Carlos Hyde and he beasted like a vision of earl campbell's eternity.' or i could cherrypick a bunch of stats about big 10 defenses. I dont care especially for any conference and I hate OSU and FSU and im pretty indifferent on auburn, but i do find the SEC stuff irritating. Without question the SEC is the toughest conference in the country. However, the 5-6 really good SEC teams do not all play each other. I am a gamecocks fan and we played @ UFC @ georgia and @ mizzou and vs Clemson (as one of the VERY few SEC teams that play any challenging OOC games. Clemson obviously is always gonna be there, and a lot of other fans/alums wanted Tanner's head for letting @ UCF slip onto the schedule). The SEC schedule consisted of 2 tough games. Every once in a while a team has to get through a full guantlet of SEC compo. Auburn will be somewhat close this year by facing @ LSU @ A&M vs Bama and neutral vs Mizzou. And you could make a strong argument that Auburn should be the top 1 loss team but you cant argue that they belong above a major conference team that went undefeated (especially one that hasnt lost since 2011).
  7. Why do you say auburn would be favored? I doubt it. I'd love to put a plus ml bet on OSU in that game. Auburn won a fluky game againt bama and pulled one ou of their ass again st Georgia. Withou that one in a million bounce vs Georgia we aren't haven this convo. Auburn is a two point favorite vs mizzou which probably means they give a slight edge to mizzou in the game. Nobody was paying attention to auburn when they got rocked by lsu but it still happened. Mississippi state led the whole way at auburn, and wazzu almost beat them. Auburn has no business passing OSU.
  8. Ogre would be a good fit. He was as a bigger failure at Ole Miss than Kiffen at USC. And the only reason that anybody is bringing his name up now is the order in which they went 6-2 with him as interim. Its pretty well documented the situations that Kiffen walked into at Oakland and SC. Im not saying hes a great coach, im saying he is a great hire for Illinois. If you would have told Kiffen hed be in Champaign five years ago hed have cut himself. Now hed take the job.
  9. Dude. Really? You don't want that [expletive] show. At best he would be moderately successful for a season, piss everyone off then leave for a better job in the middle of the night. U of I is a steaming pile of garbage program and if you could get somebody who at least at one point in time was considered the top coaching prospect in the country; i think you do it.
  10. If Illinois fired Beckman would they give Lane Kiffin a look? At the very least he'd recruit as well or better than anybody in the history of the program, and he'd also probably put out one of the best offenses in the Big 10. He'd be a huge upgrade.
  11. huh? He meant beat the 4 seed (likely to be the champ of the horrible Atlantic Division) and then the Pacers. Yes sorry. Last year we had essentially the same team minus dunleavy/snell, plus nate/bellinelli. Without Rose id rather have last year's guys, but still those are ok nba bottom rotational guys. We had a fun playoff run last year. This year, hopefully, we are a ton healthier in the playoffs with luol and kurt playing and noah and taj not severly limited. I dont see why we cant have a decent playoff run with this group (I recognize they arent playing well now, but they will come around). My expectations are down but I would absolutely want a shot at the Pacers in the playoffs. Even the 2003 draft had 4 superstars and not a ton else. I think the upside in tanking is pretty limited and id rather have a go at it this year with lower expectations, have rose back next year, bobcats pick, mirotic and sign an impact guy and be right there with the top teams next year anyway.
  12. I have zero interest in the team tanking. I could look at the last 5 drafts and there is a handful of guys that would be worth wiping a season off the map and the odds are (regardless of the depth of this draft) that we wont get a franchise player with the 4 - 8 pick. Id rather watch the team go for 46 wins and then have a playoff series than stop watching now because we tank. I'll argue this with the Cubs; that what they have done for the past 3 years isnt worth a world series to me. Ive missed out on 3 years of baseball. And punting a basketball season is not worht the marginal upgrade in future seasons by getting a Derrick Favors-type player in this years draft. Go for a 5 seed and beat the 8 seed then beat the Pacers.
  13. I can't think of a scenario where the bills don't at least get the 8 slot.
  14. I've honestly never seen the bulls look as bad as they did defending that last inbound. Just like they maybe didn't want to play that fourth OT. Man it's sad that the last four buzzer plays (they had like 10 in the game) were dunleavy and Heinrich playing a two man game at the perimeter, Noah iso, taj inside, and dunleavy off screens.
  15. Dunleavy just popped the dumbest jumper. Deng wants this game pretty bad. This is the basketball version of the bears Vikings game. Neither team can win.
  16. I think its a good hire. As we discussed last week Sark has done a great job in UW and it will be a lot easier for him in LA than in Seattle. Such a better choice than JDR. With Sumlin off the table this is as good as they were gonna do. Why would Orgeron leave? Hes getting paid well, hes got his private jet in LA, hes been selling SC to aunts, uncles, mothers and fathers of 16yr olds for years. HEs secure, well liked, etc. Not sure why hed rather be Illini's or Colorado's head coach. And i agree, if you are petersen, why would you even mess around with SC. Everyhting good about BSU is bad about USC and if he likes it he likes it.
  17. No way should they vote auburn ahead of OSU. OSU should have a chance to beat MSU to get into the title game. I hate OSU but you have to put the undefeated big 10 team into the game over the 1 loss SEC team whether its mizzou or auburn. Can't wait to see the lines come out for that game. OSU is gonna be a 7.5 point favorite I bet, and auburn laying a field goal. That's my guess but I really don't have a clue.
  18. What if Gamecocks win big tonight Mizzou loses and South Carolina crushes auburn in the SEC game? Ohio state loses to MSU. Is South Carolina in the picture??
  19. Go gamecocks and go Aggies.
  20. You gotta question Sabans handling of this game. Horrible decisions.
  21. Auburn has a better chance of scoring on this fg try.
  22. Going for it there was incredibly stupid. Channels his inner trestman instead of making it a two score game.
  23. King stays king.
  24. Absolutely. I'm certainly an SEC homer but the USC job is better than any job in the SEC with the exception of Bama and maybe LSU and Florida. When saban retires bama will be the worst job in the FBS.
  25. Curious as to why you think the USC job is better than A&M at this time. USC is in the argument of best jobs in college football. Best program and among the most historically successful. A and M is not in these arguments. Also this is the perfect time to be USCs coach because he would be given time to succeed. If Johnny football leaves a and m might struggle.
