  1. As impresive as his season is, his MLE is still something like .260/.320/.400. It doesn't factor in that he's 19, but it shouldn't be surprising if he winds up in that area.
  2. Yao retires.
  3. LeBron posterizes a kid during a game of Knockout:
  4. Levin T. Black really admires Bill Plaschke.
  5. Ah, the wonders of HGH. You should actually be applauding the Cardinals purposely giving a conservative timetable for his return. Given that it took multiple scans to find the fracture and the fact that HGH isn't going to a) heal a broken bone or b) heal it in two weeks, it's pretty clear he wasn't that bad off. so you're suggesting that pujols is using some super p.e.d. i agree Yes.

  8. Good to see the refs give the Heat a boost.
  9. Having a bunch of open shots is helping. Let's hope it keeps up
  10. Jason Terry is bonkers.
  11. Tha fix is in.
  12. Fair point. It's just hard for me to believe that it's him being afraid to take over. Nothing about that makes sense. That's exactly why he is so polarizing. He has all the talent in the world and everyone basically WANTS him to be as close to Jordan as possible so we CAN have those discussions. Problem is, every time he's on the big stage with a chance to prove it, he's failed (with the exception of that one game vs. the Pistons where he played like God). The whole situation is really mind boggling. If he played to his physical potential (which would only be possible if he had a different or changed mental makeup), he could be as good or better than Jordan, Kobe, etc..., but he hasn't yet and it just makes no sense. But I just don't think there's anything wrong with his makeup. Consider this: he was already being recruited when he was a 14-year-old, he was a first round pick when he was a junior and he was playing nationally-televised games when he was 18. He's met all expectations that were set on him when he was 16, so I just can't believe that this -- winning an NBA championship -- would be too much for him.
  13. Did they hire him for his ability to communicate with closers?
  14. Well, the statement wasn't supposed to be taken literally.
  15. That kid has no redeeming qualities. He probably Googles himself to see what people are saying about him on forums.
  16. A foolish person would say "count the rings."

  18. What does his age have to do with it? He's been playing 44 minutes a night for the past two months, destroyed Boston and Chicago (again, on both ends) and has been playing out of his mind on defense in this series. It's not even remotely possible that he doesn't have another gear on offense, can't push it against a really good defender and can instead spend his energy on defense since his awesome teammate is being guarded by a traffic cone? I'm not apologizing for LeBron; I'm just exploring the other myriad possibilities besides him being afraid of "the moment."
  19. You act surprised. This is the third straight year people are questioning if he's "the man" or not. So doesn't that make it a semi-legit question to ask then? I don't think so. At this point, I think he's completely wiped out and Dallas is doing a really good job of guarding him. After the way he obliterated Boston and Chicago on both ends of the floor, it's not hard to believe he's nearing fumes.
  20. Harper's going to be one hell of a villain. Bill Plaschke will get ulcers watching him preen around the basepaths. At least once a week someone will go on ESPN to give a sanctimonious speech about how he's ruining the game. I predict sportswriters start handing out Good Guy Awards to counter all the douchiness coming from DC and it will go to a guy (white, of course) who plays the the game the right way. Not that I'm defending Harper, either. 1. He is a douche bag. 2. His name is Bryce. [expletive] Bryce? 3. He wears (or wore) eye black like the Ultimate Warrior -- the absolute worst. 4. His name is Bryce.

  22. I mean you don't seriously believe that tripe that Wade is the best player on the Heat do you? He's the best player in the world when Jason Kidd is guarding him.
  23. And he ended +12. With 0 points on 3 shots, 3 boards and 3 assists to 4 turnovers. He really did play solid defense but yeah I was having the same thoughts as you were. He needs to find his legs. Yeah, he must have been a lot better than I thought. And he's got to be cooked. Unless LeBron goes off in the next two games, or goes big in a Game 7, history won't treat him kindly. Even if he's played some crazy awesome defense, everyone will remember the way Wade carried the Heat on offense. He's now shot 65, 57 and 65 percent in the past three games.
