  1. SWEET JESUS CUBS FRONT OFFICE. Is it really this hard to go after talent these days? Christ. Fire Hendry.
  2. given the surplus of back up catchers we have in the minors I doubt Hendry wastes money in that area, then again Hendry does love to burn those bones
  3. For making trades...we actually have talent now
  4. Exactly, it's only a matter of time before they extend Aaron Miles \:D/
  5. Pitching wins baseball games, plain and simple.
  6. He has the pieces in the farm as well as the backing of ownership now, there are no more excuses. I have always been a Hendry backer, but if moves aren't made this offseason that will obviously improve this team then it will be time for him to go. These horribly back ended contracts time after time is paralyzing our front office. We have two proven hitters that we can't move because of their contracts. This isn't 2003 anymore, he can no longer hang his hat on the trades for Lee and Ramirez. This smartest move Hendry ever made was hiring Jaramillo, but it could be too little too late. Discuss
  7. Thats a great move by the Braves, I really wish we could have got this done. I would hope Hendry at least talked to the Braves about this. Marmol is not the answer at closer until he gets his walks down.
  8. Bump, why? Because this is a move that needs to be done. We aren't getting Polanco or Roberts, and I don't like Castillo or Felipe Lopez enough to want them on this team. Callaspo will come cheap, and Hendry definitely has the pieces now to make this happen. As soon as Castro is ready for the bigs you either move Theriot over to 2nd and trade Callaspo, or simply keep Callaspo and let go of a declining Ryan Theriot. Callaspo isn't even arbitration eligible yet. The Royals need a young catcher... hmmm we don't have any of those wasting away in the minors do we?
  9. I hope he becomes a great prospect, then we can trade him for something we need down the line. Carl Crawford anyone?
  10. I can't wait for the smokies to start playing again, there will be sooo many good players for me to watch.
  11. The Royals are shopping Callaspo this off-season, they're looking for a catcher in return. Hmmm don't we have some of those lying around in the minors. Castillo or Robinson or Hill for Callaspo Go get him Jim, discuss.
  12. all of you who are willing to give up castro in a deal for granderson are crazy, if we're going to give up any top prospect give them vitters or cashner
  13. per MLBTR, get him JIm http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/11/curtis-granderson-becomes-available.html
  14. Vitters and Cashner are most likely not playing, Castro an Parker are I think though
  15. He should be able to stay at shortstop, I think he's listed at 6'1 170lbs right now so he will definitely get bigger. I wouldn't mind a 6'2 185 lbs SS with some power
  16. He's listed at 6'1 160 lbs right now which means he's going to grow, he should be able to stay at shortstop. I wouldn't mind having a 6'2 180 lbs SS with some power and an arm
  17. Castro is unbelievable right now, I don't remember having this much excitement about the potential of a player in the past five years. I'm in the process of doing a analysis of the comparisons of a 20 year old hanley ramirez and 19 year old starlin castro at the moment, hope to have it up soon.
  18. per ESPN, there goes one possible option at 2b
  19. If we're going to be winning World Series' then we need to be getting some serious pitching caliber, sign him tommy.
  20. I'd really like to see castillo get some more ABs
  21. Sonny was never going to sign regardless, they were wasting a pick by selecting him.
  22. Prior, Cruz, Hill and Choi were all top prospects at one point. Let's hope these prospects end up better than those did.
