  1. Welcome to the board. If both teams play up to their potential, this could be an incredible race. I'm having a hard time being optimistic about the rest of this year now knowing that we really can't make any moves.
  2. [expletive]. Again, all that I can come up with.
  3. [expletive]. That's really all I can think of.
  4. Its not even slowly. He is a well rounded hitter. I just wish he could stop making those pesky fielding and base running mistakes. Agreed. The Riot is actually one of my favorite players on this team. I'm hoping we can move him to 2B sooner rather than later and I believe he can be the starting 2b for years to come on a very successful team.
  5. Bruce Miles with yet another cutting edge stories about the Cubs #-o I'm getting tired of reading all these stories. Everyone knows the problems with have with our contracts/the new ownership situation/players under performing on the field. I'd love to see an article about solutions and ways we can get out of the contract hell we are in (if an option exists) as supposed to rehashing the same article we've been reading for a year. Trouble is, there ain't many options out of "contract hell." Agreed, I definitely didn't meant it as a slight against you or your article which was well written. Just a frustrating situation as a fan to be in.

  7. This makes me sad as it now means I'll likely be treated to a Kevin Hart start when I'm there Sunday. Hope springs eternal. Hey now, I'm sure he'd be your last pick too. Just worried that he's do for his 7 earned over two and a third
  8. I love these afternoon games at Wrigley. Sit back today at work and pretend to do stuff for 3 hours while listening to MLB Radio

  10. Is the anti-Sox snark really necessary? This is NORTHsidebaseball.com, so I think it is necessary. I don't hate the Sox. In fact they could go 156-6 during the year and it'd be perfect happy as long as those 6 were against us. Call me Bisoxual i guess
  11. Well, at least it happened to my favorite White Sox.
  12. Agreed. However, Tim Wakefield would be up there too and hope that knuckler isn't moving where it's basically a 65mph fastball
  13. Agreed, he's having an underrated season as a whole I think. Albeit he is overpayed, but far from a disappointment. Hopefully with his hitting coach from Japan here, he can keep up the good work
  14. Remember ARam's 8th inning granny last year? I was in the left field bleachers for that game, easily the loudest I've ever heard Wrigley.
  15. Although sarcastic I'm sure, I still feel good about this
  16. I really think we're okay still. It's going to be white flag time
  17. Agreed, he's a professional hitter when he's not trying to hit home runs every time up.
  18. Wow, just had a heart attack. Pat's voice and the Philly crowd noise...
  19. It's nice to have one day every once in a while where it all works as it should
  20. That's what I'm saying. You know he can't overpower you with anything so why take anything close to the plate? He HAS to throw strikes to be effective and can't make mistakes, so just go up swinging. Me if I replaced Von Joshua for today's game only: "Guys, Moyer's fastball tops out lower than today's temperature. He may try to come inside occasionally, but mostly he's going to stay away. Look to take the ball to the opposite field, but whatever you do, go up there swinging!" You're hired. Bring the fire and passion to the line up as well!
  21. It's funny hearing Pat on 720 trying to explain how much movement a pitcher has when he's ERA is almost 6.00.
