  1. Getting an MRI..per sun times twitter. Twitter is blocked for me at work, B&B mentioned it. :flame: :banghead:
  2. Bump! spots still available!
  3. Thanks for setting this up! =D> I've always done leagues that need more than 7 innings for pitchers. I've usually done around 25-30.Anyone have experience with less? I'm fine either way, that's the only stat that stuck out to me.
  4. I would be very interested in this.
  5. I support this as long as it's Selig standing with his back towards McGwire who is hitting dingers. http://www.mcgwire.com/picarchive-simpson.jpg In all seriousness, he probably deserves a pat on the back for his Brewers ownership and making sure a team stays in the city. Statue though? Seems a bit much, but whatever it's their money
  6. +1 With reasonable bounce back seasons and injury projections. 85-88 sounds about perfect. Of course a bad injury or two and we could be 74-75 win team real quick
  7. Very nice post
  8. :( upsetting. Greg Oden's nickname as well.
  9. As a fun aside, Millar is a scab. Not a member of the MLBPA. Sorry to disappoint those who wanted to buy the new MLB game and call him up to the majors. Video game aliases Kevin Millar is not a member of the MLBPA (Major League Baseball Players Association), and therefore his name or likeness may not be published in officially-licensed video games. Many games will nevertheless include him and other non-MLBPA players, with fictional names and different appearances. In MVP Baseball 2004, he was not included. In MVP Baseball 2005 and MLB Front Office Manager, Millar is replaced by "Anthony Friese". In Major League Baseball 2K5 and Major League Baseball 2K6, he is replaced by "Carlos Ahearn". In MLB 07: The Show and in MLB 08: The Show he is replaced by "Ivan Jimenez". In Major League Baseball 2K7, Major League Baseball 2K8 and Major League Baseball 2K9, Millar is replaced by "Kyle Morgan", with the same initials. In MLB Power Pros 2008 he is replaced by "Great Johnson". In MLB 09: The Show , on the online roster update, he is replaced by "Dave Herman". In MLB Dugout Heroes, Millar is replaced by "Kane Matthews" with the same initials. In all instances, the statistics of these characters are based on the real Kevin Millar. Kane Matthews needs to be a real player. You can't suck with a name like Kane.
  10. Right, but that doesn't change the fact that both Lou and Jim could have moved him to 2nd at some point. Plenty of guys have played not their preferred spots for the benefit of the team. ARod being an extreme example. Still nothing worth loathing the guy over.
  11. Ditto. But then again we don't have a single un-tradeable player on the 25 man roster currently imo.
  12. Really don't understand the hatred for a guy making less than 3 million dollars who's been playing out of position his entire time as a Cub outside of his obvious tshirt and facial hair choice. Obviously he realizes his days as a Cub are numbered so he's trying to get as much out of the club as possible, every person here would be doing the exact same imo. Clearly his arm and range at short is limited, but it's not his fault that Lou/Jim have kept a team that required him to play there. He's an average MLB player as has been discussed, not worth all this aggression.
  13. If all 8 is guaranteed, it's more than I would have done. 4-5 with incentives to 8 sounds about right.
  14. Edited the title of the thread to reflect this news
  15. I sincerely doubt that a 36 year old Dye would be an everyday player in right.
  16. ESPN Chicago's Bruce Levine writes that the Cubs "appear close to adding outfield depth," and notes that a decision on Xavier Nady, Reed Johnson, Jonny Gomes, or Jermaine Dye "appears imminent." My money is on Reed or Dye. Actually prefer Dye depending on the contract obviously
  17. 40 pounds in about 3 months? Is he dying? Schuster said he did not recognize him he lost so much weight. I guess by eating a lot of "chicken and fish" If that was coupled with less munchies, I wouldn't be surprised :-))
  18. I made the mistake of watching some ESPN this week and I've learned I'm friends with some very stupid baseball fans. I should know better Agreed 100% that is means nothing. I just thought it was a breath of fresh air from what I've been hearing from the news/coworkers etc. The article was just a fun read to me
  19. Didn't feel this was new thread worthy, but David Schuster on the Score just reported that Soto says he has lost 35-40 pounds
  20. I agree it is nowhere near as cut and dry and I"m not necessarily saying they should be banned from baseball...although it is an interesting topic imo. My cheers were more for the idea that I found it very refreshing that an ex-player is coming out this strongly against these marquee players in this era. Very different from a glad he finally told the 'truth' he deserves to be in the hall etc type angle
  21. No, it's actually ridiculous. Ban them from baseball? If you ban McGwire, you'd have to ban hundreds of others. Good point. Because baseball has never banned anyone for cheating or breaking the law.
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4828816 I have only one thought on this =D> =D> =D>
  23. Misquoted. Hardcorecubfan said that. I honestly don't think there is a single Cubs fan out there who doesn't think Sosa didn't juice.
