  1. LOL, not really steel. I love the rivalry and always root for the Cubs after we are out of contention. But I don't think either team will make it unless some serious changes are made.
  2. I'm pulling for 'yall to knock off the Reds. The Cards are playing so incredibly bad......Go Cubs! (today, anyway)
  3. Green is not the only mental case on the team....there are 3 more. There is something askew in Duncan's melon. I don't have it fully diagnosed, but he is about 3 more pop-ups away from climbing the screne. Ankiel's condition is far more complex...Freud would have a field day with Rick on his couch. The full extent of his nuerosis won't be fully understood until his next meeting with the wall, and only if his brains spill out for easy examination. Finally, there's LaRussa who is the easiest to diagnos...the man is insane. Purely, simply insane. I know a lot of you Cubbies think he is a good manager. If you saw him every day as I do you would be astounded. I won't go into detail right now because I have to be at work in 20 hrs, but will later. Stop bitching about Lou. He has lost his fire but at least he isn't hearing voices. But Milton :?:
  4. Perhaps they have the most wins because they have the most teams, and most opportunity to win. Don't they also have the most losses? Who cares about a battle for 1st on June 1? The central has 2 crappy teams and 4 teams basically playing .500 ball the last couple weeks. Are you serious? The relation to wins and losses does'nt change if the division had 2 teams or 100. We have the most wins because we have won more games over the East and West.. And the other cental teams. I gotta figure you been up all nite or something. The win and loss % in the central is allways 50%....for every win there is a loss. Duh. We have more wins because of the games we play OUT of the division. Now go get some sleep!

  6. Here we got the best battle for 1st by far (not to mention the most wins) of any division in baseball and all I hear on ESPN is Manny this and Arod that! You guys get a little mention because of Wilbon and Mariotti, but the other 3 teams might as well be playing in Siberia. Well, after the NBA finals we will get a little attention for a couple of weeks and then it will be Brett Farve this and T.O. that :!:
  7. Now wait a dang minute, Otis!!! I'm gonna debate it.....you may not know is the multitude of injuries we had to deal with that year and still have a comphey lead in Sept. What you might say is that the Cards are the best team ever to win the pennant while losing like 10 of their last 12 games! :amen:
  8. OK, it's not. I shudda said beat? That kid that pitched 12 no hit innings in relief DEFINATELY is in the discussion!
  9. GT ain't the place for this 'roid discussion, but let me add this one thing FYI....I did a little checking on stats to see if I could find any sort of pattern in users. What I found was quite interesting. McGwire, Bonds, Sosa, Palmero and ALL the usual suspects had a career year in strike outs in their best HR year. I then looked at the past greats Ruth, Dimag, Hack Wilson, you name 'em. To a man there was no difference in K's. Not a single one of them. The coincedence was too great to ignore. So with a heavy heart the last player I looked up was Junior. Guess what? His career S.O. Ave. was 80. His bust out HR year he struck out 121 times, a higher increase than all of 'em. You can look it up. :(
  10. Honestly, I think the high moral standard comes from obnoxious sportswriters and politicians with nothing better to do more than from the fans. With McGwire and Bonds, it was blatantly obvious they were using PEDs. Yet, their fans loved them and to this day still defend those guys. Go Milton go! You got your facts a little screwed up there man... Giants fans ignored the facts about Bonds, Us Card fans did'nt find out Mac was juicing until he had retired. Now that I know about it I hate his red headed guts, as do MANY St. Louisans. Why did'nt you mention Sosa?
  11. flying bat almost hit a little girl!
  12. I don't think so. Cubs will break out.
  13. Keener...I dont know how to post a link, but just do a search. Don't bother to try the 1st 3 stations as they don't work.
  14. Have you tried THE GAME LIVE ? You arent serious are you? If I could watch the game live do you think Id be asking for an online feed?Wtf Lord!! THE GAME LIVE is the name of the site!!!!!! Get it?
  15. OK Cub boys....3 in a row tonite to keep my streak going :good:
  16. Las Vegas is getting its ass kicked economically. Also, there is no baseball team in NJ (although one could prosper if built along the waterfront in Hudson county, the most densely populated county in the country), they are in NY. And the hangup is sports betting. There isn't any sports betting in NJ. There is in Vegas. There is plenty of sportsbetting in N.J. like anywhere else...bookies and the internet...Vegas is getting its ass kicked like every other city. Why would a dome be needed? That dry heat thing is no myth. The point about illegal sports betting doesn't really matter. It doesn't compare to legalized sports betting. And again, there is no team in Jersey. Vegas is getting its assed kick far and away worse than just about any other city in the country. It's the biggest loser so far. Dry heat isn't a myth, but it's still oppressive. You couldn't have a non-dome stadium in Phoenix, and you couldn't have one in Vegas. I never said there was Baseball in N.J.... 2 teams mean Nets and Giants. And do you think L.A.s AAA team there has a dome?

  18. Apete6 mentioned Vegas as a bad alternative, but I must dissagree...per capita it's the richest city in the world. They could field a team of monkeys and pack a stadium built 30 miles, say, out of the city. They don't want a team there because of the gambling?!! The N.J. teams seem OK. There is legal gambling everywhere now...get a clue baseball! The move to DC was as stupid an idea imaginable. When the Browns moved there that was it! DC cannot support 2 baseball teams! There are 10s of 1000s of tourists in Vegas every day that would go to the games along with the locals that HAVE to want a different form of entertainment. Join the 21st century, Baseball...."The Nevada Nationals" would be MONSTER franchise. :yahoo:
  19. It was'nt turned in by Sutter, Eckersly or anyone you may have heard of. It was turned in by Ernie Shore and is impossible to equal. Starting a game in 1917 for the Sox, Ruth walked the 1st hitter. Talk about a short fuse...he went ballistic on Umpire Brick Hughs and they went nose to nose until the Babe smacked him one. "Get that big ape outa here and go with him!" Owens told the catcher. So in comes Shore COLD and the new catcher that he had little experience with. Ump Owens, still pissed yelled "Play ball" after 3 warmup pitches. The runner on 1st figured this would be a good time to steal so he go's for it and is gunned out. Shore then proceeded to retire the NEXT 26 BATTERS in order. Perfect game? No...you gotta retire 27. But as close as you can get. The catcher must haved called as good a game as Shore hurled there. Pretty good Battery that day.
  20. Up with the chickens I see! Hey man, there is no word COPY when I right click the pic....what now?
  21. You guys are looking good. But need to have a talk with Z or get him some therapy. ;)
