  1. Mojo, et al....my D Lee post was in the spirit of kibbitzing and nothing more. Rival board? What is this...baseball or war? I'm watching WGN and pulling for the Cubs like I've done since I was a kid (when not playing us) Part of the fun of a forum is diversity, isn't it? I don't troll or bait or even post when the Cubs are down cause I know how fans feel. Aw, that's all I have to say.
  2. It's none of your [expletive] business. Nice, Mojo. You must be the same jerk I sat next to on my last visit to Wrigley.
  3. It looks like you guys are getting your superstar back. That's nice....but let's not get carried away!!! .
  4. Go crazy folks! Go crazy!!! Butters, you owe me an "Attaboy!"
  5. You see, boys? A rally. Those Bozo's that turned off the game: Nut's to you! :yahoo:
  6. This game is hard to watch. This thread is hard to read. Egads! Cubs and NSBB break out of this funk! (life's too short)
  7. OK....the book was a good thing. It marked the beginning of the end of the "steroid era". But give it up now, Jose'.....like the poster said, they were all millionaires. If they blew all that change then tough! Mod Edit
  8. I'm curious to know the feelings of NSBB on the recent disclosures on Sosa's 'roid use. I don't think anyone over here had any doubts that he used, but preferred not to think about it, and clung to the fact that there was no evidence. There would have been no evidence disclosed had he not opened his mouth last week about his certain trip to Cooperstown. He pissed SOMEBODY off. Personally I'm glad he finally joined his St. Louis and San Fran buddies in baseball Limbo. What does NSBB think :?:
  9. The AL East is close, but it's the same old story. Yanks and Sawks. There are now just 4 games between 1st and 6th in the NL Cen. But I do realize we would have to have a 6 way tie for 1st to get any National notice.
  10. Way to go, Cubs...keep it up! :good:
  11. That's priceless! Even the kids' dolls have on a Cubs rally cap! :D
  12. The Central is now the most compelling div by a mile....as of this posting only 5 games seperate 1st from 6th! With the Cards and your Cubs forgetting how to hit, and Brews cooling off, the God awful Bucs and Stro's are closing the gap!! I don't remember a race this close in June. If this keeps up it's gonna be an exiting season. BTW, when is Ramirez due back?
  13. My praise of the guy isn't based just on stats, Enn. After the 1st couple of games you could see his skills...he takes what appears to be an easy swing and the ball carries to the track, hits to all fields and A+ glove. He is a mini 5 tool player. (where as Ankiel is a 2 tooler, and Duncan is a -2 tooler!)
  14. WE didn't....Hendry did. Unfortunately, his is the only vote that matters Yeah..Ive heard some bad things about Hendry, but I would swap him for Mozeliek any day. (Altho the firing of Perry in the middle of the season is just wrong)
  15. That's the same Miles we had in St. Louis......Why in the world did YOU guys want him
  16. What's wrong with Soto?? Easy base!
  17. I'm pullin' for you guys to beat the Twink's....about time to come around....go Cubs! :good:
  18. This thread kind of died. Allow me to update it. Rasmus, in fact IS the real deal. Since Ankiels' fateful meeting with that wall, LaGenious has been forced to play the kid. He is the real deal. Not only is he the 2nd best hitter on the team, he is the best fielder as well. While Dunkiel are jumping, sliding and crashing into walls, Ras is as smooth as silk and has yet to have to leave his feet or get one grass stain on his uni. He never misses a cutoff man or throw to the wrong base. Look at his June offensive stats, guys. You may be impressed.
  19. Good lord....it took you guys long enough to break out! Nice win pending. Keep it up......Oh, 'yall might find this amusing: LaRussa put Ankiel @ cleanup today. BA: .220 HR: 2 OBP: .296. The worst hitter on the team replaces our Silver Slugging Allstar...AGAIN. Think about that when you get down on sweet Lou! :banghead:
