  1. It didn't suck too bad. We went into it trailing the game and being no-hit and now we are tied and have their starter on the ropes.
  2. One of them just hit a fastball 495 feet, you fool.
  3. Some good discussion about our line-up. The research from Tom Tango would say we are probably doing things right with Schwarber 2nd and Rizzo and Bryant 4th and 5th. The third hitter just comes up so often in the first inning with nobody on and two outs, giving that spot a lot of low-impact ABs. However, Coghlan isn't really the right guy for the third spot. He gets a lot of his value from getting on base, though he does have some pop. The ideal third hitter would be like an old-school, Dave Kingman-type slugger. (Well, the ideal third hitter would be Bryce Harper, surrounded by eight other Bryce Harpers.) From our assortment of hitters, a "fixed" Javy might work well there. It has a minimal effect on the lineup to have it properly constructed, though. And, all line-ups are different: some are deep; some have big star power and little else; some are full of on-base guys; some have a bunch of slap-hitting, small-ball guys. So, you can't just pigeonhole guys into the prototype lineup suggested by Tango. And, with our pitcher in the "proper" spot at 8, it would be nice to get around to Rizzo quicker in the later innings. So, I don't know what I think, nor do I really care.
  4. So this guy is an actual person and writes for mlb.com: [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  5. So, if he can incorporate that change-up into his repertoire more, he's basically impossible to beat, right?
  6. Yeah, I had no idea either. Null as a 15th rounder was another good find too. Yep. He's a bit younger, too.
  7. That would be neat. Let's see that plus 5 dongs.
  8. Wow, I didn't know Markey could touch 96. He's had a very strong season. He and Williams were both nice finds later in the draft last year.
  9. Over/under 50 UZR/150 for Coghlan at first base after today?
  10. So, I'm on pins and needles for every Javy at bat now.
  11. Despite all of the dongs, I think the most embarrassing thing for Arizona has to be that Jon Lester scored two runs today.
  12. We went 1-2 in a series in which neither Lester or Arrieta pitched and Joey Votto went [expletive] insane. Calm down, meatball.
  13. Get on base and let Javy tie it.
  14. Eh, could easily have won all 3 if not for uncharacteristic stinkers from Grimm and Rondon. Just sucks that that little [expletive] hit started the whole thing. Could have easily lost all 3 if not for Schwarber Yeah, that's baseball. Sometimes your guys win games and sometime they don't.
  15. For [expletive]'s sake... just walk him
