  1. Yeah, I don't think white, meth head Javier Baez is gonna maintain his 1.000+ OPS.
  2. Well, at least with the balls, we've established that 2 feet is too far outside for a strike call.
  3. Javy is going to be nice to have as a 9th inning defensive replacement for Zobrist in the World Series.
  4. And... that's another game with 6+ from the starter.
  5. I'm late to the party, but I have to say that I love J-Hey. And he did that in St. Louis.
  6. I was saying Boo-urns.
  7. Their normal lineup is alright. Tonight's lineup has Matt Adams batting 4th, though.
  8. That lineup doesn't scare me at all. Matheny realizes that Matt Adams has a .650 OPS over the last two years, right?
  9. Oh and we also rank 1st in BsR. So, basically, we can run, field, pitch, and hit better than everybody. So, that's pretty nice.
  10. Fangraphs has updated their fWAR calculations today. Until today, UZR wasn't being shown. And I think for their fWAR defensive component, they were just using league average defense for every player. Well, according to UZR, Dexter has been worth 3 runs defensively already. So he's now at 1.5 fWAR on the year already. http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/George-Costanza-Squirts-Ketchup-at-Table-Seinfeld.gif FWIW, DRS also has liked Dexter's defense so far, giving him 2 runs saved. And as a team, we rank 1st in DRS and 2nd in UZR. So, yeah, we are just good at everything.
  11. Yeah, it's the longest streak with 6+ IP from the starter to start a season for a Cubs team since 1910. It's also the longest streak to open a season for any major league team since the 1988 Astros. We passed the 1999 Braves last night.
  12. Who is the first poster to see his turn as thread starter pass without a victory? Or, more precisely, what loser will be the cause of the Cubs losing back-to-back games for the first time this year? Or maybe we're all winners this year and we won't have to worry about that.
  13. Seriously, I'm getting all hot and bothered about the thought of Bryant and Russell being guys that don't have worrisome contact issues.
  14. I demand that ESPN also cut into games to show Fowler at bats, until Harper passes him in WAR.
