  1. Jorge Soler: Incredibly Handsome and Possibly At Least Replacement-level
  2. Who has been more valuable the last two years, Jake Arrieta or Butters?
  3. I don't. Send him packing and sign Matusz. Then again, I don't really care.
  4. Oh horsefeathers, Eloy just hit another dinger.
  5. Did everyone take Ski's advice and quit watching this team?
  6. Ian Happ with a homer in the first, following a Gleyber single.
  7. Good stuff. Nothing on Contreras, though?
  8. I don't understand how Rafael Devers is top 5.
  9. If anything, this slide has made it so that I will appreciate the Awesome Cubs even more. So when they are donging teams to death and annihilating everyone, it will be easier to cherish.
  10. We really could blame him for it all, because of Schwarber. Had Schwarber been playing the last two weeks, he probably would have donged like 9 times. Sounds good. Let's go with that.
  11. Ah, I think Cespedes just caught up to them. It was a much cooler factoid when it was just the Davises, C/Khris.
  12. possibly on topic, would you believe Khris Davis has the most HR in baseball since last year's trade deadline? I believe he is tied for first, right? With Chris Davis. At least that is what I saw a couple days ago.
  13. If Billy Beane is going to limit his trade partners to teams that haven't fleeced him, then he's not going to have very many teams to work with. He's made a lot of really bad trades lately.
  14. Somehow Rich Hill has pitched in the majors in every year since he came up as a Cub in 2005. He's spent a lot of time in the minors throughout that run, but for some reason I thought he had a longer path back to the majors, rather than him being in the majors literally every year. And, yeah, sure, I'll take Rich Hill. But at what cost?
  15. I'm talking myself into this, too. I don't know much about sports psychology. Or anything about being a hitting coach. But, maybe, just maybe, the short time off will be good for him. Forget about the swing problems. Unwind. Come back as Jason Heyward and everything is normal again. Or he could roll over to the second baseman four times.
  16. He's ridiculous. 95/5 K/BB. He's thrown 79 innings in 10 starts. He's went at least 8 innings more times than not. And he's still only went over 110 pitches twice. His FIP and xFIP went up tonight. Tough luck.
  17. I think it's fine to express frustration so long as perspective is maintained. Being a well-adjusted person doesn't mean having no emotions whatsoever. People differ in their levels of expression, is all. At best this makes you this guy:
  18. It depends. Do you mean "be upset?" Or do you mean "whine incessantly?" Yeah I mean I made like what, 4 posts in the game thread. God forbid I question a team that's busy coughing up all that early season lead they built up. Well, they still have a big lead. And they still have all those awesome players. Lighten up a little.
